This swap is going to be so much fun and quite a challenge! Here is the idea... When I assign partners you are to go to your partners profile and study it! Now you'll take each letter of their first name and come up with a word or sentence to describe them. You can use either their first name or their user id name. Now you make a bookmark with these descriptions arranged such that you can read their name easily. You will have 2 partners that you send one bookmark to each. This is for variety and different ideas for future swaps. For example: If someone is named Samantha, you can probably shorten it to Sam, but you MUST check with them first as some people do not like their name shortened. If it's long all you need to do is contact them and ask them if they prefer their name or do they have a nickname. If their ID is Sassy for example and you want to use that, that is your choice. Say they tell you that Sam is fine. Then you could use the "s" for Sassy. "a" for altered artist and "m" for makes cards. (If their name has an "e" in it, you could say "enjoys making cards") If they do, of course! Don't put something that does NOT apply to your partner. The challenge comes in that sometimes there just doesn't appear to be a descriptive word in their profile and you may have to get really creative and find a word that would work in the description. An example of this is if they have a "y" in their name and there doesn't appear to be ANYTHING usable in their profile...Next to the "y" you could put the sentence "why not take time to create today" or "YES, loves chocolate, of course". I am giving 10 days for sign-ups and 2 weeks for preparation time. While you are waiting, why not browse the profiles of the participants and see if you can get some practice. Since you might not know their name, just use their user name. This will help you when it comes time to get started for real! Questions please ask! Better to email me as I sometimes forget to check the comments! |
