Song Lyric ATCs - International

This swap is to share your favourite song lyrics by creating ATCs - but there is the added challenge that you need to be partially inspired by music which is perhaps quite different from what you usually listen to.

You will have just one partner, and produce 4 ATCs for that partner. Postage to just one location should be quite cheap so this swap is international.

The Rules: Two of the ATCs should be inspired by the lyrics of songs you really like. You could start making those straight away if you want to; the other two will have to wait until you've been assigned a partner.

The other two ATCs should be inspired by lyrics of songs your partners likes.

When partners have been allocated, check your partner’s profile to find out what music they like. So please update that section of your profile - or add a comment below. Try to list several bands or singers you admire, who have each produced several songs with good lyrics.

Your partner may like a genre of music that you would never normally listen to - so I’ve left plenty of time between signing up and sending so you can do some research! If you can't borrow a CD, try Google. Most lyrics can be found online, and websites like youtube often have music videos you can watch.

Please note: some songs may contain ‘offensive’ lyrics. Try not to be offended. It’s only words.

Design the ATCs in whatever media you like - and they can either include the words as part of the design, or just be inspired by it. However, please include the artist & song title on the back of the card, or enclose a note.

To get a 5 rating you need to send 4 ATCs, two of which are inspired by lyrics from your partner’s musical preferences and the other two from any other songs you choose. It might be nice to include a letter explaining why you chose these songs, whether you enjoyed listening to different music, etc. – but that’s optional.

In return you will receive 4 ATCs, with two inspired by songs you probably already know and love, but the others may be about songs you've never even heard of… Hopefully you'll be so intrigued by them you'll want to listen to the songs that inspired those cards - and will thus broaden your musical knowledge still further!

This swap is international, and open to anyone with a rating of 4.8 or above. If you're below 4.8 but think you've been rated unfairly, contact me and I'll consider you. Newbies must have a fully filled out profile, and also, Newbies, (or people whose only swap ratings are for online swaps), please message me before the signing-up date, to persuade me you're really serious about doing this! Otherwise I may have to drop you.

I’ve allowed plenty of time, because I’m so busy with other swaps at the moment – but I really wanted to try hosting this! It’s my first attempt at hosting a swap so be nice to me, and if you have any advice I will gladly listen!
