Description:

For this swap you will be sending all things Matryoshka (Russian Doll). This is a LIGHT swap because, although I'm not putting a limit on weight, we all know that times are rough and I for one can't afford to be spending $20 on shipping. So please keep your packages light/small. You will send your partner a little package of at least 5 matryoshka items, at least one of them handmade, to your ONE partner, and please make them all items you yourself would like to receive. Please include a little note to your partner as well. Please no used items and most of all NO FLAKERS. You will be called out. Any questions, feel free to ask me!

Its a shame its one handmade item as it would mean me having to first buy online and then to ship to my partner since I can't get anything here on it so it works out expensive anyway.

I've seen russian doll deco tapes, keychains, charms, stickers, postcards, about everything!

Hi guys! I can definitely give you some ideas...I've seen a lot of matryoshka stuff out there, a couple of things I've seen are magnets, coin purses, paperclips, keychains, stickers, and wrapping paper. As for what to make, the possibilities are endless. Just a few ideas that I've made in the past are ornaments, felted dolls, cards, matchboxes, I mean you can put a matryoshka on just about anything! There's a cartridge for the Cricut that is just matryoshkas, too. You can choose to make this a mostly handmade swap if you can't find matryoshka things ready to go, or if you stumble upon a store that carries stuff, that's great, too. I kinda realized in writing this that it may be harder for some of you to find matryoshka stuff, so I'll extend the date a little in case you need some extra time. Have fun!

@ samash: I guess really the point of making one of the items handmade is that you like to make handmade things. If you had to buy something handmade, that would sort of defeat the purpose of the swap in the first place. Thanks for stopping by, though ;)

More ideas: Make your own stamp, create a cute illustration or papercut, bookmarks, make one out of fimo, embroider a cute patch or small item like a pouch or purse, search for images on the web and decoupage them onto a nice box or use the image to make some pretty stationery. I've seen some matryoshka cuteness on http://aprintaday.blogspot.com/ ( I think they're part of her older posts, but she has some images she has kindly offered for personal use) and you can get a lot of great ideas by searching etsy.com as well. Let your imaginations go crazy!
