PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION

It's not easy being a newbie. I became hooked on swapping due to the awesome swappers that gave me a chance when I started. To them, I am eternally grateful. I'd like to carry that torch in their honor.

Being a semi-experienced swapper, I have a HUGE stash. It wasn't like that when I was a newbie. My intention is to start an open-ended series of swaps for newbies. The swap is non-specific on purpose. If you are unsure what your partner would smile about, send them a message. Communicate. Give them a few options of what you can provide and allow them to choose.

What To Do

Once partners are assigned, you can go to the swap's homepage. In the box to the right, you will find a clickable link that says: "See the partners you send to".

This will open a box with your partner's names and addresses. Please click on their swap-bot user name and it will take you to their profile.

Read their profile. Choose something that will make them smile. The smallest thing can cause such happiness. The idea is to send them something they will like and add a personal touch. Let them know you care.

Throwing five ribbons in an envelope is not showing you care, if you know what I mean. Include a personal note, decorate the envelope, etc.

Requirements

A well filled out profile. Three paragraphs is not enough. The intention of a profile is so I can get to know you and what you like a little better. (It doesn't need to be nearly as dramatic as my profile, lol!)

A small, lightweight, flat items wishlist. For example: notecards, address labels, postcards, stickers, etc. The goal is a simple, inexpensive swap.

Don't get all huffy if I ban you. I am more than willing to do private swaps with those I ban, providing I don't catch an attitude. I do what's best for ALL of my participants. I am always available to answer questions and help in any way I can.

Because I intend to angel all of my swaps, I read profiles carefully and I am strict with my requirements. I reserve the right to ban anyone for any reason. But, I will offer a private swap.

Happy Swapping!

This sounds wonderful. I used to do private swaps all the time & had sooo much fun. I am just starting out on swap-bot & really need the chance to prove I'm a fun swapper. I just got dropped from the first swap I signed up for because of my profile. She was nice & offered me some advice, so I am trying to make it better. Beforehand, I was worried about making it too cluttered...but now I see that is sort of the point ;p

:) Everyone has different opinions on a good profile. I decided to use MY opinion for my swap, heehee! Doesn't mean I'm right, by any means!

DarbyFlats...got your message, but can't seem to reply back? I'll be on here tomorrow =]

Lise 06/19/2010 #

A great swap! Unfortunately, I live in Europe! I would very much like to see an international version of this, since it will probably a rather light weight package.

DarbyFlats 06/19/2010 #

@Lise I offered you a private swap via PM (private message). I can't afford to angel the swap internationally. But, I'm more than willing to "take the risk" with a personal swap. :)

comfits 06/19/2010 #

Unrelated to swap.

DarbyFlats...reply button doesn't work. It sends me right back to my messages. It's weird. I even tried hitting it with other messages I've received...always goes back to my "in-box".

DarbyFlats 06/19/2010 #

@comfits That's quite odd. :( Sorry you're having trouble.

Lise 06/19/2010 #

Thank you very much DarbyFlats! A private swap we will do and do not worry about the risk: I have never flaked any one ;)

DarbyFlats 06/19/2010 #

@Lise I was just sayin'... heeheehee! The flakers are few and far between. I like to believe that most people are GOOD, so.. I take my chances! :)

I signed up today as I'm finished with the bookmark swap I was in. This sounds like a fun thing to do, I'm looking forward to picking out things for my partners. =)

DarbyFlats 06/20/2010 #

@tiggerkitn25 Hi! Thanks for joining. :) It's nice to meet you!

aglanceatmyworld 06/20/2010 #

Can non-newbies join? This sounds like a fun swap but I'm not considered a newbie any more.

DarbyFlats 06/20/2010 #

@aglanceatmyworld ABSOLUTELY! We'd love to have you! ;)
