Description:

There was recently a swap called "Another Postcard...with Chimpanzees!" that was canceled, and I am making this swap to replace it, sort of.

The great apes are our nearest, dearest, and closest relatives. And who doesn't like pictures of family?

In this swap we will be sending one postcard to each of 3 partners featuring an image of one or more of the great apes. In case you've forgotten, the great apes are chimpanzees, bonobos, orangutans, and gorillas. If you are unfamiliar with any of these beautiful species, educate yourself here: http://pin.primate.wisc.edu/ (Primate Info Net)

In fact, human beings are also great apes, but we're not sending postcards with people on them, okay? Only the non-human apes.

To join this swap you must have a rating of 4.7 or higher, and no no-sends. I don't want any flaky swappers in my swap, and I will be checking profiles before the assigned date.

I'm giving you all a long time between assigned partners and the due date so you can get your hands on some great apes postcards. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns on where to find great apes postcards, send them my way! I'd prefer a message rather than commenting below. Happy swapping folks!! :)

At least one more person needs to sign up, or we can't do the swap at all because I picked 3 partners!! Otherwise, I might have to change it to 2.

Hi, I'm joining this swap I love monkeys apes whatever! might need a little help directing me to where to find these, UNLESS you can make your own! then I may be able to do that.

Now you can leave it at 3, as long as no-one backs out. I didn't sign up until I found my postcards at a local card shop. I'm in the UK, so although I could tell you where I found them, it probably wouldn't help any of you.

I wouldn't object to receiving a handmade card.

I forgot to ask before - do the postcards have to be 6x4? The ones I found are bigger, but I could trim them down and still leave a nice picture on the front.

Another suggestion if ape postcards are hard to find. I saw quite a few ape greetings cards before I found the postcards, and I was thinking I could cut a postcard from the front of the card and mount it on another piece of card, if necessary for extra stiffness.

i took some pics at the zoo and am going to try to print out postcards on a photo site or pick them up at the store :) now I wish I would have wrote down the name of them I was thinking I will be back and can stay longer and write names down LOL

Postcards either handmade or store bought, so long as they are still postcards. It's quite alright if it's larger than 4x6 inches, as some specialty postcards simply are. But remember that a postcard larger than 4x6 inches will require the full 41 cent first class rate (in the USA), and not just the postcard rate.

So glad you all joined!! :)
