This swap is for a Mini Garland. Or do you call them "banners" or "buntings", or um...strings of pendants? Anyway, you can see the one I made on my Flickr account from the link on my profile. Mine is with layers of triangular cardstock on a grosgrain ribbon, spelling out "Happy Birthday". This is an open theme, sender's choice, so you can make your banner in any theme or colors - seasonal, nature related, holiday, celestial, whimsical, worded or non-worded, etc. Just make sure it is creative, neat and something you would like to receive yourself. The shapes don't have to be triangular, either. They can be any shape. There are many examples online of wonderful garlands of all styles and shapes. As for material, mine is cardstock layers and ribbon, but you can use felt or fabric if you prefer, or anything that is sturdy enough to make a nice garland. Regular paper will be too flimsy. SIZE: Make your banner about 2 ft. long, more or less, depending on the size of your 'pendants', with at least a dozen pendants hanging from it. More if you like. Mine has 14, to be able to spell out the words. The smaller the pendants, the more you will have room for. But don't make them tiny. Mine are about an inch and a half long, I think. These can be used in the home as decoration or as a doll accessory. Mine will be used on the front of my Petite Blythe's room box...or else to display with my Barbies in a photo scene... or over a cabinet door or something like that. Since this is sender's choice, you can start working on making yours right away if you wish. You must have a 4.5 or better rating to join, and no 'fishiness'. LOL! If I have left anyting out, or you have questions, please don't hesitate to let me know. I will edit later, if I need to. Let's have fun with this! :) |
