The jewish year starts this year at September 13th. It is a tradition to send greeting cards to friend and relatives. The Greeting card will usually have elements from the jewish tradition of the the new year ceremonies like: honey and apples, birds carrying greeting cards, the holy book, shofar and flowers. The Jewish new year is an opportunity for new beginings and revival. people usually bless each other with a sweet year, thus the honey and apples. Let's swap and greet each other with an happy new year. You are most wecome to join this swap ever if you are not jewish. We all need an extra reason to celebrate. each person will send a card to 3 partners. the cards may be hand made or bought. you may be creative as you want - but it is all about the the greet.

Eilat's Hebrew font. I wanted to try to read her message. Too small for my old eyes. And of course MS Word makes the Hebrew all backwards.

I am not Jewish but love Israel and all things Jewish :) For some reason that is how I have felt all my life. I would love to learn more about the Jewish New Year and the traditions that go along with it. Can I join?

Nana and Madtetter - dont worry, it doesnt have to be hebrew and you dont have to be Jewish. you may use Jewish ornaments or colors, or not. it is just about the greeting. We are very happy you decided to join us.
