http://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/68292

I decided to modify my scrap paper soup swaps to allow people to pick the color combinations they are interested in. This first one will be for blue and green scraps. They can be all blue, all green, or a combination of both colors. They can have other colors on them, but the majority should be blue and green.

What I mean by scraps are the ones I know we all have – the bits & pieces left over from our various art projects. You know, the ones you just can’t bear to throw away, thinking they’ll be good for something in the future (smile). However, the thing with me is that I forget to use them and instead cut what I need from a bigger piece, and then I end up with even more scraps. A vicious cycle it is…

You will send each of your 2 partners at least 20 different blue and green scraps. They can be cardstock, textured paper, decorative paper, handmade paper, scrapbook paper, etc. Please do not send: magazine pages, book pages, calendar pages, newspaper, plain copier-type paper, or plastic material.

Minimum scrap size: ½" x 2” (1.3cm x 5.1cm); Maximum scrap size: your choice

Please also include an ATC, postcard, or greeting card made by you, using blue & green scraps (other colors and/or embellishments may be added). This will be for your partner to enjoy. Write a short (or long) note on the back or inside for your partner.

This is an easy swap and it’s open to everyone, as long as you have a well-filled out profile. If you sign up, please follow through and send your swap. No one likes flakers – please play nice!

Here are a few ideas for using scraps: * Thin strips make nice borders – you can even punch a decorative edge. * Stamp a word on a scrap. Cut out (or tear out for rough edge) and adhere to another layer for a colorful frame. You could then adhere that to another layer and so on, for several colorful frames. * Paper weaving * Randomly collage for a neat background

I hope you run these swaps again in the fall. I am not available for the first part of August and would love to participate in the next one.
