Description:

Do you love creating your own handmade postcards (PCs)?

Then this swap is for you!

1) Materials - Paper or Fabric

2) Size - 4 X 6 or larger

3) Mail the PC naked, no envie, but be sure to add a quote, joke, poem or note. Some fabric artists occasionally like to embelish their PCs and they cannot be sent naked in the mail. If you need to mail your PC in an envie please first check to see if that is okay with your partner.

4) This is a sender’s choice swap, there are no required themes. Enjoy letting your creative juices flow. However, it is always nice to check you partner's profile to see what they have a passion for.

5) Be sure to write the name of the swap and your ID somewhere on your PC.

Participant Screening:

Must have a fully completed profile (not just a few lines). Must have a 4.9+ status I will list all flakes and will angel, but I trust that won’t be necessary.

Ratings:

We’d all like to do a swapper’s dance of joy when we receive our PCs, but remember ratings are based on meeting the swap's requirements, not whether or not it suits your taste. Be sure to rate your partner as soon as you receive the swap. Happy Swapping!

You know, I make a lot of fabric postcards, and I'm a firm believer in mailing them naked. I pay an upcharge for "non-machineable" items and consider destruction in the mail system to be part of the experience - sometimes it's the BEST part.

It has always boggled my mind that people make a "postcard" and then send it in an envelope. At that point, isn't really just a fancy decorated notecard?

If it's not mailed AS a postcard, to me it will never BE a postcard.

Yes, you do have a very excellent point and when your partner reads this they will be sure to send their PC naked as a jay bird. I just like to give the option to participants.

Having been the lucky recipient of one of @BetsyPreston 's awesome fabric postcards, I can say that it survived the transatlantic journey admirably well, and certainly no worse for wear! Lot's of fun to receive. :D

Just a note, from an Australian perspective. Anything we mail that is non-printed is supposed to have a customs sticker attached. I am told by the post office that includes fabric postcards! Unfortunately this means that if you follow the rules, half of one side of your postcard is taken up by a large green sticker.

Having said that, I have successfully mailed fabric cards to many countries by affixing just the normal postage, and dropping it into a post box. Don't tell Customs. However, I always make my swap partners aware that there is an increased chance of one of these cards going astray should it meet with a more legalistic postal worker somewhere along the way.

Oh my! I am so very sorry for assigning partners a bit late. I never assign late. I had company and the time slipped by. Happy Swapping everyone.
