Okay, wow, this may take some time and research. I know it will for me. Please answer these 4 questions the best you can. Please use the Bible as a reference for your answers. State at least 1 verse (preferably more) for each question to support your view and explain your view by using the verses and how they relate to the question!! Remember we are not just throwing our opinions out there, but we should be reading what God has to say about these questions. Alright, here they are...

  1. Is it okay for a Christian to watch rated R movies? Ones with GD in them?

  2. Is it okay for Christians to ever disobey the government?

  3. Should kids be taught sex education from the public school system or should parents be responsible for this?

  4. How can someone be a good Christian example in the secular workforce? Give an example of how you can glorify God when confronted with words of how great you are and what you have done at work?

Just a thought...you may say, "well, the bible don't talk about rated R movies." You are right, but the bible does tell us what we should and should not expose ourselves to. That was just an example. I believe that each of these questions can be answered in the bible. It's questions like these where we (I know I do) stumble because it seems as though it's not clearly layed out in the bible. But, I believe that God gave us everything we need to know in the Holy Bible.

As always, if you have any questions, please pm me or leave a comment!! Have a nice day!!

Thanks so much for the nice comments, the Lord has laid on my heart about a Bible study here on swap-bot for a while; so finally I just did it. Now I find myself not being so interested in the other things that I swap and spending more time with this group and it's members. Our God is a awesome God!!!

Can you clarify question one for me? 'Ones with GD in them'...what is GD?

bettflow09 08/17/2010 #

@Jenna83 I really don't feel like I should type out here what GD means, but it means taking God's name in vain. You know....God D....???

@Jenna83 I had the exact same question when @thevmatt introduced the question in the group discussion :)

I'm not exactly sure why they don't want to spell it out, because we're clearly not mis-using the expression, but I respect the decision not to spell it out.

thevmatt 08/17/2010 #

Yea, you are right....it's not like we are mis-using HIS name by typing it out. I just don't want to type it out:-) Would it be a sin if I typed it out? I don't think so, its like I don't want to say it either, so I will explain to someone in spoken words what I mean without actually saying it, that is all. I am willing to do the extra work to not have to say it or type it. I guess that made sense? He he:-)

Thanks everyone. I think that is an interesting way to put that question too...because I think more often than not in movies when I see God's name used in vain it is more along the lines of someone yelling Jesus' name, not actually saying, 'GD'. :) This has been interesting to research. Can't wait to send it and see what everyone else has to say. :)
