Description: | |
Go to a public place -- a park, a zoo, a beach, a coffee shop, a mall, even a bus stop -- somewhere to see people you don't know. Take a paper and pen and make notes about at least six people who catch your eye. Describe them in such a way that you will remember them. If you hear a bit of conversation that sparks an idea, write it down and use it in your story but that will be an extra if it happens. Think about the people for a few hours or a few days. If you feel like taking a photo of the people you can send a copy to your partner [but that's not necessary]. Then write a story based on at least one of the people you saw. It could be about the act of watching people, or it could be anything else that comes to your imagination. You can put several of the people into the story if you like -- entirely up to you. Your story should be more than one page long -- no length limitation if you feel like writing a long story. You'll send it to two partners and you'll have most of a month to write it. |
