Description:

I love notebooks. As a kid, I always looked forward to that time of the year when we'd do our back to school shopping. When I find a cool looking notebook, I still get a little giddy.

This swap will be for interesting notebooks. You will send three notebooks to 1 partner. This will be an international swap.

The three notebooks will be:

  1. Small notebook - purse-sized.
  2. Medium notebook - journal-sized
  3. Big notebook - Full-sized

Thank you to twobluecrows for the size clarifications. Here's what she wrote:

"A7 = 2.9" x 4.1" A5 = 5.8" x 8.3" A4 = 8.3" x 11.7" so yes, those are about right I'd say.

our similar common sizes in the US would be: 3.5": x 5" or 4"x6" for the small; 5"x7" or 6"x9" for the medium(journal size); 8.5" x 11" for the large(full size)"

The notebooks can be spiral bound or journal style, handmade or bought, lined paper or plain. The key is to find something interesting, no plain, one-color, school style notebooks.

Just so I know what I'm doing...

Am I right that a small notebook is roughly A7 sized, a medium one A5 and a large one A4?

Just thought I'd better check as I don't want to disapppoint anyone!

i carry 2-3 mini-notebooks with me all the time -- no more searching for bits/scraps of paper with important information (grocery list, prescription numbers, etc.)

this swap is so COOL. i'm a "school supply" junkie too.

now that i don't have little ones around, i grab a "1st grader's list" at the megastore and SHOP FOR FUN -- then i take the pile-o'stuff to the school and DONATE IT for sharing with kids who just can't afford the whole list.

Ooooo, Cad Lady, I LOVE that idea. Grab a list and shop for fun :0) I feel like I should be standing up at a support group meeting saying, "Hi, I'm hoosiergirl and I'm a school supply junkie". hahaha

Anyway, I'm in! I carry a notebook with me everywhere too - I dont have to worry about thoughts and ideas getting misplaced in my head that way!

can I ask for no spiral bound please? I alwasy send out beautiful hardbound and spiral drives me crazy!

te3dd 09/15/2007 #

My problem is that I don't want to use any of my notebooks/journals...They are all waiting for the "right" topic or occasion. But I love them all and don't want to tarnish them with writing!

Tinkerbelle 09/17/2007 #

Is there a price guide on this swap as I am concern about sending out beautiful hardbound books and to put it frankly, receiving back cheap dollar store notebooks...

teresa 09/20/2007 #

A price guide would be really great - I am aiming to send out good-quality, hardbound notebooks but I don't want to be signed up to this and find out later that others are sending out (for example) real leather bound notebooks with parchment pages or something!

teresa 09/20/2007 #

Also, I don't mind whether it's hardbound or spiral bound, but nice paper would be grand! Handmade would be great also (I may ask you for tips). Thanks :)

please can we have a price guide

I can't believe I've found so many like-minded people:) I have a passion for notebooks, in fact I think I'm addicted to them. Hurrah!

Most of the notebooks I found and bought don't show ANY sizes whatsoever. One of them that I bought, but it fits perfectly in a purse. I already mailed them all out today.

pebbles: if you check in here, could you please fill out your profile? thanks.

Tinkerbelle: I'm sorry you have reported having my notebooks returned to you. It puzzles me, because my address as shown by Swap-bot is correct. If you will email me an image of the "undeliverable" notice and your postal receipt, I will check with my postal mistress. She knows me, as I am in there 2-3 times a day some days. We will trace the problem and, if there was a postal system snafu, I'll get your SECOND SENDING postage refunded to you. But I'll need that receipt image emailed to me.

Again, I'm sorry you've had an issue. Noone ELSE has had any trouble getting swap to me. I've rec'd several this week alone.
