Description:

For this journal, let's write about our significant other that we see in our dreams. OR, for those lucky few that MAY have found the best of the best, the ultimate of the significant others, their real-life significant others that are their dream come true.

Let's get some of the particulars out of the way first, before I commence any further. For this journal, let's have it be AT LEAST a 4" by 6" journal, bigger is fine as well. BUT NOT SMALLER. This journal can be either hand made OR store bought. If it is store bought, however, please put some effort into decorating at least the cover of it. If you make your own, feel free to type it or you may handwrite it, if your handwriting is neat. The insides do NOT have to have any type of decoration, but if anything is added, hearts can be considered when rating. Anyone can join, newbies included. However, make sure that you have done 5 type 3 swaps before joining. However, due to the extent of time that this journal may take, no flakers, or anyone with a rating under 4.9, or recent 1's or 3's that can NOT be satisfactorily explained. If there are any questions on this, pm me and I'll eventually get back to you, within 24 hours, I hope. I will NOT be able to angel on this, and cannot/will not expect anyone else to either. Also, please keep in mind when you sign up, that the journal you receive may NOT necessarily be censored, so if you are faint of heart, or are opposed to hearing "the particulars" of anything and everything, please do NOT sign up. OR if you do sign up, do NOT be offended if someone else is a little more graphic than you anticipated! When answering these questions, or just free writing in this, please feel free to include any and everything that you feel comfortable with others reading about you.

SO, when writing about this dreamboat, include ALL of the following as separate journal entries:

  1. Explain a little about yourself. What are your job(s), what are you like, how do you look/how would others describe you physically, how do you see yourself, how do others see you, etc.?
  2. Is this guy real or fantasy?
    a. IF you are one of the lucky few who has a REAL dreamboat, how did you guys meet? Give details about how you both hooked up, was it love at first sight, dates, any and all particulars related to this aspect.
    b. IF you are like me and living with only dreams, how WOULD you go about meeting this future dreamboat, where at, what would your dates be like, was it love at first sight?
  3. Give a physical description of your mate.
  4. Give an emotional description of your mate.
  5. Tell me about your wedding ceremony.
  6. Was this the first wedding for either one of you? If not, then explain. Who was married (or had a serious relationship) before? Were there kids in the other relationship?
  7. What makes you so sure that this relationship is "the right one" for you?
  8. What are your occupations/means of support for yourselves?
  9. What are your plans for kids?
  10. What is the wildest thing that you have done as a couple?
  11. What is the dream vacation? Do you guys go regular vacations if you cannot afford the ultimate dream vacation?
  12. Explain your relationship, when it is just the two of you, no "extras", like kids or in-laws.
  13. Explain your relationship with your in-laws (brothers, sisters, grandparents, parents...).
  14. Explain your mate's relationship with your family (brothers, sisters, grandparents, parents...).
  15. How does your dreamboat see you? Like, are there any flaws that s/he sees in you, does s/he overlook them, etc.
  16. Write about your house. Describe the interior and exterior. Where would you live, if you have a specific city or state in mind, or do you just see the surrroundings?

Other options to consider writing about:

  1. IF, and only IF you are comfortable with this, the wildest exploit you had with this dreamboat. Get as wild and crazy as you feel comfortable with others reading! One may be surprised that you aren't the only one thinking those kinds of thoughts!
  2. ANYTHING else that can be pertinent to this type of writing. I'm sure as I think more about this, I'll go "MAN!! I meant to add..." SO, if there's any further comments or ideas (from me or anyone joining), please feel free to leave a comment or message at the bottom, as it may spark other suggestions with people!

I've tried to give plenty of time to sign up and a month after the sign up deadline to write this and get going on this! Come on! Let's get started writing like the romance novelists!

Love this idea. I have never done one of these before. Can we get these back from out partners after they read them? I would love to have mine as a keepsake for my little girl.

JenL 08/30/2010 #

OK, let's put this to a vote...What do people think of maybe putting this as a typed journal (IF it is possible!), then this could be duplicated easier. OR would you want your original returned? I'll go with majority ruling here. Here's a chance to vote!

ALSO, I did just add another one to this (SEE, I told you guys I'd think of something else!!). The additional is about the house. SORRY! My sincere apologies to that! I will so state "EDITED" next time(s) I decide to add anything.

MysticBayou 08/31/2010 #

I vote for the original journals to be sent back to their creators. We could all be so much more creative if we know that they will be returned to us Pictures, More Details, Artwork etc. Something as personal as this would definitely mean more to the maker than the receiver in this case I think. The creator can refer back to the journal that they have made over the years, while maybe the receiver would only read it once or twice maybe? These are just my thoughts. I will be happy to go along with the majority here.

JenL 08/31/2010 #

Sounds good to me to return the original journal back to the rightful owner/creator. IF there is someone that has joined this swap that disagrees (or will disagree with this) leave me a message here. I WILL look occasionally on here and respond.

I think, after thinking through my own responses, I am going to type my answers, which will enable me to rework, reword, and reorganize what I've got going on. I find that once I write something then move on, I tend to think later on "DUH!! I meant to say _____!" By then, I have no room to write that! My journal will then be put into a binder with a cover on both sides, etc., just like a journal. If anyone else chooses to do this, might as well. I believe I stated that I don't care if this is typed or handwritten any way!

I like the idea of returning it to the creator. I think this could be something that someone could cherish for many years to come. Great swap!

user2637 08/31/2010 #

Could we skip one of the entries? If, for example, we are boycotting marriage due to marriage inequality, could we skip #5? (Also, the wording on #5 doesn't make sense.) Thanks!

JenL 08/31/2010 #

Thanks! I'm SOOOOO glad to know that I'm not the only one fantasizing (when I really should be working, or cleaning, or....!). I love the idea of returning it, too. MysticBayou, THANKS for the idea! I was going to create 2nd one for myself. Umm, DUH! (anyone see a pattern emerging here!)

JenL 08/31/2010 #

OK, fixed wording on #5, thanks for heads up. As for skipping it. that's fine, as long as maybe you write that in the journal so whomever gets your journal sees that it was skipped for a reason. Just don't skip like every other one, or something like that. Make sense, in the sense of keeping it fair for everyone!

Hey I was just wondering if Graphic means R rated? Trashy Romance Novel Graphic? Obviously I know that the journals probably won't be X rated, lol. I was just wondering, what level of "Graphic" is acceptable. I wouldn't want anyone to be offended by reading my journal:)

MysticBayou 09/ 1/2010 #

Originally, I wanted my journal back so I could give it to my little girl. I have totally changed my mind, lol. This will be a "Mommy Only" Journal, lol. I can't wait till partners are assigned!!

JenL 09/ 1/2010 #

Well, graphic is however much you feel comfortable writing and having others read. I, personally, plan on getting maybe rated R, but not rated X. Make sense?! I would like to have mine back, but still have it be a "Mommy Only" sort of journal. I think I might enclose a self-addressed return envelope with mine. SO...if one wants their journals back, why don't we count on doing the return envelopes so the receiver knows! That may make it easier! Hoping more sign up! I think that this could be a fun swap, and may be worth repeating at a later date!!

Megbomb 09/ 3/2010 #

I love this idea, and would love to journal about my real dreamboat. I won't be able to participate this time around due to being in the midst of moving but would def. sign up if you do a round 2!

JenL 09/ 3/2010 #

SOLD! I'll consider doing this at a later date, but maybe slightly different for those that have done this. I'll have to start thinking about how to alter it slightly. Now my juices will have to start flowing....

JenL 09/ 4/2010 #

I came up with an idea for this, for those of you who wish to type their journal (which I already stated I was and didn't mind if it occurred) and those who do NOT have access to a book binding machine like I have. FOR any and all, if you wish to use a project presentation cover, where it is like the clear plastic cover on front and back and one can remove the plastic, colored side where the binding should be, this idea would NOT at all bother me. Does/would this help anyone?!

MandaFace 09/ 5/2010 #

I really like the idea of this swap but im not sure if I would want mine back or not and dont want to be obligated to send one back if they dont want it or something like that so I think that you should make it if you want it back you should include an envlope already addressed and paid postage(can that even be done ahead of time?) Idk what exactly im trying to say really anywho this one is still on my watch list will give it another week to see what the final thoughts are about getting it back or sending it back you know. No matter what the outcome i think i may join this one :)

JenL 09/ 5/2010 #

I think I did say in one of these messages that if you are wanting your journal back to include a self-addressed, stamped envelope. The message was type by me on 9/1 after MysticBayou said something about it. I was going to include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with mine so no one else was out $$$ for returning my journal back to me. I think you are right in stating something about it, as it could get costly to mail a journal twice for the same swap. TO CLARIFY FOR EVERYONE....IF YOU WANT YOUR OWN JOURNAL BACK, INCLUDE A SELF-ADDRESSED, STAMPED ENVELOPE IN YOUR SWAP so your partner is NOT out any extra $$$ on this swap! If you do NOT want your journal back, do NOT put an envelope inside. I know that this CAN be done, as I have had to do it SEVERAL times for my 2nd job. I hope that this clarifies this, as I would hate to think that this kept people from joining. I would love to see this go in the top 10!!

JenL 09/ 7/2010 #

Hey - would anyone mind if I switched this to international? Let me know...

MysticBayou 09/ 8/2010 #

I really wouldn't want to do International Postage on this because I will be sending a Post Paid Envie for my journal to be returned home,:) I, myself would rather keep it Regional. I will keep checking back to see if anything changes. :)
