I love Halloween, but I hate gory and gross and overly scary. If you're like me, this swap is for you! Below, list 5 things you love about Halloween. You'll have 1 partner. You will either buy, upcycle, or sew a Halloween standard size pillowcase for your partner. The pillowcase needs to be either a) brand new & perfect condition or b) used, but in perfect condition & clean!! You'll fill your partner's pillowcase with all sorts of Halloween goodies. If you don't want candy or if you have allergies, please post that below!! Follow your partner's wishes on this, folks. You will find items related or matching the 5 favourite things listed below and put them in the pillowcase. If your partner posts that she likes witches and on her profile you read she loves rubber stamps, then find her a witch stamp maybe! If she knits and wants yarn then send her some orange and black yarn! If she loves the smell of pumpkins, maybe send her some pumpkin scented lotion or candles (please don't send her a can of pumpkin and tell her to open it and take a whiff...while amusing, unless she enjoys cooking, she might feel tricked rather than treated). ;-) **Read your partner's profile! Check their etsy favourites!! ** If your partner doesn't like kawaii or doesn't want yarn or is allergic to pumpkin scents, don't send it! If in doubt, don't send! EDIT 2 You can certainly include Halloween items that aren't listed on your partner's profile or on their short list below. I just want everyone to read their partner's profile and put thought into what they're sending. You can recycle/upcycle Halloween things you might have been given, but these must be in excellent condition!! Thrift store and garage sale items are fine, but again, don't send what you wouldn't want to receive condition-wise! Also include a Halloween greeting card in the package for your partner that tells him/her of your favourite Halloween memory! You can make your own greeting card. Because the weight on this might get pricey, this is limited to U.S. You will put your pillowcase and items in a medium flat rate box, so fill it up!!! You're welcome to send it in a larger box if you discover you have oddly shaped things, that's up to the sender, but the pillowcase you send must have at least 10 different items and MUST fill a medium flat rate box! (When I say 10 different items, I mean that if you partner has 5 things listed and 1 is witches, you can put in 10 witches but they must be different: a book on witches, a cd of witchy songs, soap in the shape of a witch, witch postcards, a witch dog costume, etc.) Make sense? Think candy, ornaments, decorations, books, dvds, candy, etc. Used books, cds, & dvds are fine as long as they're not in the process of dying. Get your postage-worth out of the flat rate! No tricks here, just treats: SPOIL YOUR PARTNER!! :-D Who can join No 1s. No unexplained 3's within the last month on package swaps. You must have 15 package swaps rated by the time this starts. I will check profiles. I will angel 1 person if necessary. To the person who flakes: I will hunt you down and set my ankle-biting weenie dog on you after he's had a plateful of yams...it will be smelly and painful for you... I know this is uber-picky. I love Halloween, but hate the scary version of it. I wanted to make this swap for people like me. And I made this as detailed and picky as possible to convince people to join. If this is profile specific then receivers will get more joy out of what's sent. This is about treats not tricks. So, I hope you'll join me! |
