Have you ever made a gravestone rubbing? They are super simple and very interesting! For this swap we will make 1 gravestone rubbing to send to our partner. How to: Take some paper, any kind of paper; computer, construction, stationery paper... Using a crayon, charcoal, pencil or another medium of your choice-lay the paper down on the words you want to copy. Take the crayon, peel the paper off and using the side of the crayon, hold the paper down securely and rub crayon over the paper. It can take a few swipes to get the desired results. Optional-Try to find a marker that has your swap partners name on it, if possible or desired. Or even their birthdate. Include a rubbing of an interesting or curious epitaph: ie-'I told you I was sick'. Or make a collage of names and dates. Minimum size paper 8.5 x 11 I love old cemetaries and we have quite a few around here from the gold rush era. If this is something that appeals to you, then you will probably be making more than one! Once I got started I couldn't stop! It is an interesting process. This is an International Swap. That's it! Post any questions below. |
