Description: | |
Some of you have probably heard of the Flat Stanley project where school children send little paper characters around the world. Recipients take pictures of the characters in various locations and then send the character and picture back to the child. So I thought this might be fun to do with adults (since we can't participate in the kids version). All you have to do is make a paper doll. Doesn't have to be a work of art. Can be made from a regular sheet of paper, but you can make larger if you so desire. Just make sure that it's not so small that it would be hard to get a good picture of. Then you'll send it to your partner. Partners, you'll take a picture (or multiple pictures) of the Flat Stanley somewhere in the area you live. Be creative - go to a zoo, find a statue, take it to a concert, etc. Once you get the picture developed or printed off your computer, send it and the Flat Stanley back to the person who sent it to you. If this works out and there is interest, we'll make this a monthly event so that we can keep our Stanleys going. This will be an international swap so that Stanley can visit exotic locations. If you want more info about the actual project, check out the website at http://flatstanley.enoreo.on.ca/. There is a template on the website if you need it. Okay, now for the serious stuff. I will remove people who have multiple no sends. In order for this swap to work, you need to be responsible since it involves the step of sending Stanley back. Your only cost is going to be for postage to your partner and back to the person who sends you a Stanley. Make sure you put adequate postage on the envelope so Stanley doesn't end up in the dead letter files somewhere. Let's have fun! |
