Description:

The theme of this swap is: The Color Green. This is one of a series of color-themed tip-in swaps that will be hosted here over the next few months. Look for Color Yellow Tip-Ins, also running at the same time as this swap. This is a 2 for 2 swap. This means you will make two sets of pages, and send one to each of the two partners you are assigned. In return, you will receive one set of double pages from each of the two people who are given your name as a partner. You will be creating two sets of double pages. (Or if you're like me, make three, and keep one set for yourself.) Each set should be built on a 8-1/2 x 11 sheet of cardstock or index stock, landscape format. (Landscape means the paper is oriented so it's wide and short when you're creating your artwork---so, you'll be working on a piece that's 11 inches wide, and 8-1/2 inches high.) For complete instructions on creating this type of double page tip-in, please refer to the instructions posted on my site, here . Please be sure you can create your pages and have them in the mail by the last day of September. Folks who fail to meet their deadlines will be blocked from participating in any future swaps I host. I'll also weed out those of you who sign up with existing bad ratings karma here at Swap-bot. One more thing: I know this site says to scan the items you receive and post them in the gallery. I'm against scanning and posting someone else's work, for copyright reasons. Feel free to scan and post YOUR OWN WORK in the gallery---flaunt your own work, and be proud! Please read all the info on the FAQ page so you'll understand how Swap-bot works. I no longer answer questions about how this site runs, since there's plenty of documentation posted by the nice folks who own it.

Does anyone else have the exact same partners as the Yellow page swap? Odd. I guess it will save me some shipping if I only have to mail two sets of 2 pages to just two people!? Maybe it is a Swap-bot glitch. I will check again when I actually need to address the envelopes.

user1733 09/ 3/2006 #

Bren, Yes, I have the same partners for these two swaps. I thought I was just hitting the wrong link :)

lisavollrath 09/ 3/2006 #

Ditto here. Perhaps because exactly the same people signed up for both, and the Swap-bot randomizer is only so random? Ah, well---three cheers for postage savings!

I was wondering too. Ok then, since I'm not the only one. Looking forward to getting more pages for my book! ~ Carol

I received green and yellow tip-ins from Livia today. Thanks, speedy!

bren 09/ 7/2006 #

I also received Livia's Yellow and Green tip-ins.(I just got done with the backgrounds and getting the rest of the materials together. I need to get crackin'!) I like the idea of the fold out panels! I will have to try something like that in the future.

Green and Yellow are going into the mail today!

Received Lisa's tip-ins today. Why can't the local hardware stores have paint chips that big!

And now that I have both sets of pages, I have to say, even though we are saving on shipping to send them, it's taking out half the fun of receiving them! :(

lisavollrath 09/17/2006 #

Bren: Home Depot has the big paint chips.

user1733 09/18/2006 #

Received from Lynne yesterday -- both green and yellow tip-ins are great, but the green one is SO detailed! My book is going to be so interesting with three of your pages tipped in. Thanks!

user3117 09/18/2006 #

Large paint chips can be found at Lowe's too. If you have a Sherwin Williams paint store in your area they have chips with a window that is lots of fun to play with. If I remember right they are in the Martha Stewart collection.

Hi all, I too have the same partners for yellow and green. I's a big help to me with international postage!

Iowascrapemouse 09/22/2006 #

Received mine today, it is Taylor Hicks and it is so cool!!! Thanks Jude....Wish I could give you a 10....lol

bren 09/23/2006 #

I had to go 40 miles away to check out the larger HW stores. Wow! I even found some texture and glaze sample cards as well as deck stain samples with the wood grain embossed on them!

I uploaded, to the gallery, my green page that will be going out on Monday.

user1733 09/23/2006 #

Pat, I received your green and yellow pages a few days ago, but I've been experiencing some health problems and haven't been on the computer much. Thank you for two great additions to my book!

user1733 09/25/2006 #

My green and yellow pages are going postal today!

pequad 09/28/2006 #

I have received my lovely green & yellow tip-ins from Lisa and Bren -- thanks, awesome! And mailed mine out this morning. Sorry for mailing so close to the deadline, we've been sick & I didn't want to send y'all my germs.

~ Carol

Cindy E- I recieved your tip ins today - post office was quick!! I love the quote you put on the yellow one. Thanks so much Livia

arizonarose 10/ 2/2006 #

As of today, I have received neither a yellow or green tip in. Noticed every one sent theirs in. Who ever had my name, please let me know if you sent it. Thanks

arizonarose 10/ 2/2006 #

Boy, wish for someting and here it is. Received today my first two neat tip-ins. Carol, thanks very much for the yellow and green tip in. They have many elements to them and it makes them look special. Will look great in my book. Thank you. They were mailed before the 30th, but with smail mail it took a while.

Iowascrapemouse 10/ 3/2006 #

Since it worked for Jude, I'll try,,,,haven't received my 2nd set of tipins....it is hard to be patient and I know the mail sucks....

user1733 10/ 4/2006 #

If you are still waiting, don't forget that we have international players in our group. I didn't mail until the 25th because of some problems on my end, but that was still within the swap guidelines. I hope my international partner isn't sad because she hasn't recived it yet -- New Zealand is a long way from Alabama.

lisavollrath 10/ 5/2006 #

Guys, remember, the mailing deadline was September 30th---that's only five days ago. Since we have international players, it's possible your goodies won't arrive for another week.

AngelFaeryKathleen 10/ 6/2006 #

A great green tipin with a beautiful photo arrived from Cindy though the week. Thank you Cindy I love it.

AngelFaeryKathleen 10/ 6/2006 #

I posted my yellow and green to Lisa and Livia on the 29th so they sould not be too far away, they take 5-7 days to get to NZ from the USA so I gess they take the same to get to you from NZ.

Iowascrapemouse 10/ 8/2006 #

My partner is from the UK, so I'm still hopeful...

Iowascrapemouse 10/12/2006 #

I have not heard anything from my partner, Denise Smith from the UK. It has been more than enough time to receive them. I sent her an email and she did not respond. Has her other partner heard from her? This is a good reason not to have the same partner for 2 tipin swaps running together. This has been very disallusioning, especially since I did not receive one from another color tipin swap....

lisavollrath 10/12/2006 #

As I said when you emailed me that same message, Mickey, this is the chance you take when you do swaps. There's nothing anyone can do to force your partner to send you her overdue swaps, nor is there anything that can be done about which partners you're assigned, since that part is done by the Swap-bot system.

What you can do is rate your partner appropriately so that she won't be able to participate in any further projects.

arizonarose 10/13/2006 #

I also had Denise Smith and received nothing. I will rate her as not received.

Iowascrapemouse 10/14/2006 #

Too bad you already had me as your partner, Jude, we could have done our own swap.

lisavollrath 10/16/2006 #

Denise has been creating new profiles to dodge her bad feedback and get into swaps---she's sending to me in Orange and Black, so I'll be getting stiffed. I've reported her to Travis, for whatever it's worth.

Iowascrapemouse 10/18/2006 #

Thanks for being on the ball, Lisa. Why don't people just send the stuff that they're supposed to....I rather have it late than not at all...
