Stephen King describes his muse as a cranky old guy living in the basement of his mind. Every so often, the Guy in the Basement sends something upstairs, and King sits around and stares at it for a while, trying to figure it out. There's never a manual or instructions from the Guy in the Basement, just this... thing that has to be dealt with. In this writers' block busting swap, you'll write a letter to your muse, whoever he or she may be, discussing the most recent "thing" he or she left in the front room of your mind. [For some of us, this thing might have been left sometime in the Reagan administration...] Feel free to have some fun with this, too. Is it a thank you letter for coming up with the best idea you've had in a long time? Is it the kind of letter you would leave on the windshield of the guy who stole your parking space? Is it the kind of note you'd give your cat, thanking them for the "present" of a dead mouse? Newbies welcome. You have 2 partners and can send the same letter to both of them. Hostess will angel if needed. |
