For this swap, you will have two partners and create a chunky page for each. This will be a color theme swap, with the subject matter up to the sender (although it would be nice if you checked your partner's profiles and made something they might especially enjoy). Please keep images/words "family friendly." When you sign up, please leave a comment with the following info: What color--or colors--you want your page in, which side of the book you'll be binding it on (top, left, etc.), and whether you prefer a 4 X 4" size or a 4 1/2 X 4 " size. Chunky pages must be must be on heavy (at least cereal box weight) cardboard or chipboard. (A good way to recycle!). Please leave a 1/2 inch space without embellishments on whichever side your partner says they are going to bind it on. Remember, the point is "chunkiness" so please make sure your pages fit that definition with relevant 3-D embellishments or fibers. Please use do your best work! No stickers unless they are especially lovely, and try to avoid the mass-produced "scrapbook" type of images. (They're ok to use if artfully done, collaged with other things, or altered in some way, but try to avoid a whole page of mass-produced images). The backs of your pages will be visible, so they should be lightly decorated and include your contact information, your user name from this site, and perhaps a date and title. When you mail your pages, please remember that embellishments more than ¼†thick require your envelope to be hand canceled. Writing “please hand stamp†on the envelope is NOT sufficient. It will still be machine processed. You must go to the post office counter and specifically request that the envelope be hand canceled, and stamped “non-machineable.†If you're not familiar with chunky pages or need some inspiration, check out these links: http://interiordecorating.suite101.com/article.cfm/decorateforthe_holidays http://robinsbluenest.typepad.com/robinsnestblue/chunky-books-and-pages.html http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=chunky+book+pages |
