Description:

For this swap you will have one partner. International postage is expensive this way the cost is kept down. You will also need to have good sewing skills for this swap. You can use a pattern or not (that will depend on your own skill base), sew by hand or use a machine. Your creation will be unique because it was made by you.

Make a Softie that suits the "Handmade Whimsical Woodland Softie" theme. I'm thinking, tree, mushrooms, squirrels, foxes, owls, skunks, hedgehogs, deer etc. I am seeing cottons, linens, felt, lots of greens and browns and huge doe eyes.

Make sure your creation is at least 5" in height or width. Please include some details about what you made, how you made it and what it is made from.

The idea is to send your partner something they will love. Send something you really love and your swap partner will love it too.

To join, you will need minimum 4.9 rating, with no recent 3s or 1s. I will check profiles carefully and I will remove participants that don't meet the criteria. Newbie friendly but please pm me first. Don't sign up without pming first.

I've made a squirrel & dressed her for fall in a cute trimmed coat. I love her & had so much fun making her. I might just have to make another so I can have one for myself :o)

Oh my! It sounds so cute. I have taken a photo of my WIP she is now our mascot for this swap. I will update the image as she changes. Sorry that's a real spoiler.

Can I use crochet for my softie, or do you only want sewn items for this swap? I recently made the most awesome gnome (crocheted amigurumi style, about 7" high finished) and am in the woodland creatures frame of mind. :) Wondering what my gnomie would hang out with...I would love to crochet if that would be fine.

Sorry Jenna. I did not get back to you before the deadline. I think I would have said no for now just because I did say make a softie using sewing skills. Hope this doesn't offend.

Regarding all those in the swap. I have just finished pming everyone with gentle reminders about postin on time and about what we should do if we encounter problems. If you do run into a problem and can't post let both your partner and myself know. Swapping is not the end of the world. But we do want it to be stress free. :)
