Description: | |
Since the first swap like this was a big success, I have decided to host another one. Just because it is such a fun swap. In my many travels, it is always fun to learn of cultures and things that are so easy to buy where I live, may be exotic to someone in another county. Like how Japan has Blueberry Kit Kats, I cant get that here. In Australia Kool Aid and Lawyer's seasoned salt is hard to find, in Europe they don't have Peeps and Hershey's are not popular, in Canada it's hard to get Nips. For this swap you will give your partner something that is easy to get where you live but would be hard to find where they live. It can be Salt water Taffy if you live in Atlantic City or Mango Jam if you live in India. It does not even have to be food. Please read you partners profiles or comments and message them if you have any questions. It should be a $5 US dollar minimum (you can spend more) with shipping being additional. You can send 1 item or several small item (like candies) - please make sure it is at least a $5.00 swap value before postage or mailing. You will have (1) partner. You can send NON-food items also - just be sure to check your partner's profile and try to send them something that is unusual to where they live or are from. Something unique or cool from the area you live in. It is possible you will not get someone overseas.... you may get someone in your own country. In this case - try to send something unique from your own area. Like I know in Minnesota Wild Rice is sold in stores and easy to find, where you cannot find it easily at all in Georgia or in the south. You can be generous if you choose and spend over $5.00 - but, please do not spend less than this amount when choosing items for your partner. Also remember, postage costs are additional and not a part off the minimum $5.00 swap requirement of what is enclosed in the parcel. You must have a rating of 4.8 or higher to join this swap. No 3's or 1's within the last 6 months and only active swappers please. You must have completed 1 rated swap before joining this swap. Swap is international - so, you may have to send overseas or you could receive from overseas. I ask that you send your swap within 2 weeks of partner's being assigned. You may use the discussion thread to list ideas of things you like (list as many as you like) - but, I strongly encourage everyone to check profiles before buying and mailing a parcel to your partner. It is ok to contact your partner after partners are assigned if you really are unsure what to send and want them to be more specific the things they like. Please don't demand certain items. And keep in mind, fluids and such are often postal no-no's so stay within guidelines of what is ok to send in and out of your own country. It should be alot of fun and who knows what might arrive in your mailbox! :) Please use care when packaging your items. If they could get smashed or squished (edibles) - pack them in a box with packaging material. No one wants to receive a package that is damaged and not able to be enjoyed. If items are easily damaged - label parcel 'Fragile'. If item does arrive broken/smashed or squsihed - I think it should be re-sent. Just use good judgement when packaging as the postal system is not necessarily gentle with items and hopefully we will not have this problem. Due to expected high participation and folks joining this swap - I will not be able to angle if you do not receive a swap. However, I will check all profiles before assigning partners and try to eliminate any potential problems in advance. Flakers are not welcome in this swap! If you do not receive your swap in a timely fashion - contact your partner. If you cannot resolve it, you can rate a 1. Although do try to resolve it first please. I find people are usually honest. Things can go missing in the postal system. I am mentioning these things only to try to keep balance so we all have a good swap experience. :) If you have any questions - please ask |
