I kept the group title usage going for the second swap King @Hollycm6 !

Ok, I was going to do this swap in a couple of other groups but thought I would do it here first so I really hope you guys like it and join!

For this swap you will create a festive garland for your partner to hang up at Christmas! You can make this any way and using any medium you wish from decorative paper, recycled papers, felt, or other material and using any shapes and designs you like. I know that garlands can be vertical as well as horizontal but for this swap I would like us to stick to the horizontal type so we can hang along shelving, windowsills, doorways etc

Think creatively and try to do something unique. I have seen lots of wonderful examples of festive garlands from christmas trees and gingerbread men paper ones to felted pom poms and cotton snowflakes. HERE are some results from good old Google!

The only other requirement is to package your garland in something that means it can be stored away safely after Christmas and kept in tact for next year. Something simple such as a decorated plastic cello bag or cardboard 'envelope' or even a little box if you wish.

I don't feel the need to put any measurements (EDIT would say no shorter than 1 metre) or strict rules here as I trust everyone to make something lovely for their partner and something special that they can hang over the Christmas period to inspire, cheer and make them smile.

I already have my ideas and since this is senders choice and the theme is pretty straightforward, there is no reason to wait until partners are assigned to start! I think I have given enough time (please let me know if not) and put the send by date just in time to recieve your garland and hang with your other decorations.

So have a happy holly ho ho time making these ladies! =D

Oh that's adorable. I have long wanted to make myself one of those stocking garlands with little kid socks or mittens! But seems like each year I try it I am broke! Ha!

(When I read the title I pictured this adorable dandelion garland in my head! :)

Yes! Well I was going to put dandelions first in the title but thought it would sound like we were making dandelion garlands. I do hope you join this one, socks or no socks! =D

How long should our garland be?

HollyHox 10/20/2010 #

Well how about we say no shorter than a metre?

hollycm6 10/23/2010 #

I tried to host a garland/banner swap a while back. It was for an inspirational word, but no one was interested :( So.... I'm excited - count me in!!!

I am making mine out of paper, I think,... if it will work. I hope that will be okay??
