Description:

I heard a request for a swap based off Alice themed stationary, stickers and all that goodness and had to give it a go!

So for this swap you will have 1 partner, for your partner try to collect and create a nice little stash of Alice themed goodies. These can be directly related (brand name or official) outside related (mushrooms, woodland, tea time etc.) or handmade (use your imagination! Few ideas come to mind right away, greeting cards, ATCs, stationary, stickers, postcards, collages..)..

Get together a size-able stash for your partner worth between $5-10, I don't like to put price tags on these things, so send something nice, you'd like to receive!

Open to all members in good standing, I'll be checking profiles and such as you join. Any questions or comments, ideas or anything, feel free to post or message me!

If anyone on the watchlist is unsure about something, or has a question, please feel free to post or message me! I want this swap to be as open to interpretation as possible, meaning you can hand make everything if you like, I trust you're all capable of whipping something up, computers are great! :D You can buy sticker paper affordably at Staples, full sheets and print them off your printer! Since I know finding these things in real life's not always so easy!

I was just about to ask you where to find Alice merchandise..and I'm talking about the disney movie, not the new one. So mostly the expectation is that everyone will handmake things and not go hunting?

Jester777 11/ 1/2010 #

Oh no no, not at all! You're welcome to go hunting, I encourage it!

Hence the "Since I know finding these things in real life's not always so easy, meaning you can hand make everything if you like!" I happen to have two items that are both Alice related that I have found in thrift stores and online. I'm just saying that I know it's hard to find sometimes, depending on where you live and what you have available. There's time enough to search, but if nothing comes up, don't panic - you can always make your own!

I like to leave my swaps as open as possible since everyone works differently and has different things available to them.

Where would be a good place to look? Or are these things kind of hit and miss?

Craft stores have a TON of stuff! Just be imaginative. Mushroom rubber stamps. Mini locks and keys. Teeny tiny bottles. Mini playing cards. Chessboard/checkerboard patterend paper. Playing card suit patterned paper/buttons/brads/ribbons/etc. Little watch faces/parts. Clip art of vintage tea sets/tea cups. Alice in Wonderland clip art.

And if you want to buy stuff, try articus studios. They have an amazing assortment of little charms and things. I think tweety jill just came out with a whole line of Alice themed stuff.

OH ok that helps a lot. I'm so literal that I didn't realize it was Alice THEMED lol ok gotcha. This sounds fun!

Jester777 11/ 3/2010 #

Yeah see there you go! Just push the theme a little and grab together a bunch of items that you think work. Doesn't have to be brand name or Alice exactly, it's just some goodies to get us excited and feeling creative.

Haha, it says "Alice Themed" right in the description there, but that's ok, just go for what ever you're finding and whip something up. Make your own stationary or ATCs, or what ever you would like to receive! :D

Etsy is also a great place to shop for Alice/Wonderland themed stationary. And if your partner is into kawaii or Japanese goodies, there is a big assortment of Japanese Alice stationary floating around on the internet. I've also found some really cool stuff with more classic illustrations... and don't forget official Disney merch.

I'm hoping to be able to join, I collect stationary and all things Wonderland so this is definitely a dream swap for me :)

Yes that's right! Some of the cutest Alice goodies are Kawaii! I happen to have bought the cutest little letter set: HERE for only $2.65! So cheap and totally unique. I happen to adore Kawaii goodness though, so if you're not keen on it, might be good to say so, heh.

Anyways, Partners are assigned! Have fun searching for and making goodies! Make something fun and funky, maybe add a little love to the packaging too, you know, just go with it! :D
