Hmmm... well, you can't read it but the man in the cartoon says to the woman, "My New Year's Resolution is to stop telling you what to do all the time. Here, I wrote down your resolutions for you." Funny. Yeah. Part one: You will write your partner a letter on New Year's Day, outlining your New Year's Resolutions. Your resolutions are personal... they can be anything you want to do, to be, to improve (we fellow Chaucerians won't judge!) from reading a certain book, or a number of books, to changing a bad habit or learning a new skill, or losing weight... whatever! Just write them down (and keep a copy for yourself) Include one cup of new year's cheer for your partner... that is, one tea bag or hot cocoa package... Then... send it off (make it pretty... a fun envelope or something? send within a few days) and GET TO WORK on that resolution. Oh yeah... you didn't think you'd get off that easy, did you? Write your partner one update on February first explaining your progress toward your resolution... (even if you just plain give up on it)... and mail within a few days (see final swap send-by date) Part two... RESPOND to your 'receives from' partner's original letter with an encouraging note, an idea, a tiny gift that might help her... whatever. You WON'T get rated on this part, so if you are doing it for the rating this is not the swap for you...but you wWILL be honor bound by the Cup-and-Chaucerian Code to complete this part (and it WILL be considered a group flake if you don't follow through) Only one letter, card, gift, etc is required, but this should be sent out BEFORE Feb 1st, if possible. OUTLINE
Profiles and current ratings will be checked. PM me with any explanations of ones or threes since you joined this group. Also please make sure your tags, WTA's etc are up to date. (both in this group and outside of it) |
