For this swap we are going to make a bunting (paper or fabric garland) for our partner. I found this lovely listing here: http://ny-image2.etsy.com/il_fullxfull.194851894.jpg on Etsy This bunting is about 52" long with 9 3" by 3" triangles. That sounds pretty doable! I like this particular one because it shows how very simple and yet very pretty a bunting can be! Now,IF you make this from paper you will need to make it sturdy with cardstock, etc.A single layer of paper will not hold up! If you make it from fabric, either sew two (2) layers together or-for those of you who do not sew-iron 2 layers together with fusible interfacing. The listing uses a crocheted cord, but lots of other things can be used for hanging the bunting;macrame cord, clothesline, good, sturdy ribbon,a long strip of (doubled)fabric,etc.,etc.!! What else? Hmm..The bunting does not need to "say" anything.Pretty papers or fabric should be just fine all on their own! I am making this USA/Canada only.If anyone is wondering,I figure that Alaska and Hawaii are part of the USA and it would cost you just as much to mail to/from there as to Canada! I will be checking profiles :) |
