Description:

This is a U.S. only swap. The only cost of this swap is the single postage stamp to send your envelope. This swap is open to anyone with a rating of a 4 (or higher) OR newbies with COMPLETELY filled out profiles. (Anyone not meeting the requirements will be dropped from the swap). You will have 2 partners. Send each of them a minimum of 3 different things, just be sure that you use only ONE stamp to send their envelope of goodies. The things you send can be new, handmade, or used (in good condition and use-able). You are not required to cater to your partner's profile. Some examples of what you could send: drawings, stickers, gift tags, bookmarks, ribbons...whatever you can think of that you think would be fun to recieve. There is not a big amount of time for the send by date, as this is supposed to be a fast swap (hooray for instant gratification!). Please be sure to rate your partners after recieving your envelope, as there are likely to be newbies who need to build up their ratings. And when you DO rate your partners, keep in mind that you are not rating their skill level, or taste, or time spent....you are only rating that they met the requirements....of course if your partner does go the extra mile and send awesome goodies and/or extras...be sure to give them a heart and some nice comments! Happy Mailing!

one of my favorites!!

enakitty 10/ 4/2007 #

me too ashley! :)

KerrWriter 10/ 4/2007 #

I have a hard time with the one-stamp rule. My packages are too fat :)

Zia 10/ 6/2007 #

Is this a letter-size or legal-size envelope? Or does it matter?

enakitty 10/ 6/2007 #

zia-doesn't matter, so long as it can be mailed with one stamp :)

CelestialFreak 10/ 7/2007 #

What about old postage and a make up stamp? I know details... I don't have any current stamps (I have a roll of 37 cent stamps) so I'll be using two... but only because I need to add a 4 cent make up stamp. Now, come on... this doesn't break the rules, does it?

momokitty 10/ 7/2007 #

just for reference (i do work for the USPS after all...lol)! a .41 letter is 1 oz. or less, length min 5" and max 11 1/2", height 3.5" and max 6 1/8", thickness min .007" and max 1/4". so it can be a tiny bit fat...like a tea bag! this is gonna be a fun swap! thanks enakitty! ;)

enakitty 10/ 7/2007 #

thanks momokitty! great info!!

celestial-no worries, so long as it adds up to 41 cents :)

MamaBowers 10/ 8/2007 #

I am having a seriously hard time fitting enough cute stuff in the envelope without going over the 1 stamp rule! Will I get penalized (hehe) if I go over?

enakitty 10/ 9/2007 #

lol yup-it's a challenge to keep it to one stamp!! ....i would try to keep it to one stamp....i would guess that your partner's wouldn't give you a bad rating if you didn't follow the rules 100% tho

MamaBowers 10/ 9/2007 #

thanks!

hahaha when I had mine weighed at the PO today I had to take something out of one. I was so disappointed. One ounce doesn't give you much to work with LOL

hestiashearth 10/10/2007 #

heh - when I gave my stuff to the postal employee, he said, "Oh, I bet that'll be about 58 cents." I was like, "No, mister. You don't understand. It can't be more than 41 cents! Seriously!"

Fortunately, my food scale at home didn't lie to me. I was still under one ounce. Yay!

enakitty 10/10/2007 #

lol hestiashearth!

I wish I had read these messages (esp. momokitty's!) before I tried to send mine off! Like a lot of you, my envelopes were too fat, too! I was so disappointed...had to come home and do them over cuz I didn't want to be "penalized" for using more than one stamp! The gal at the post office took one look at them and went, "yeah, those are gonna take like 3 stamps each." Oops!

enakitty 10/10/2007 #

oh no emjaybe!!

it really is a challenge to keep our envelopes to one stamp

....might be fun to do the next one with a little more leeway in the postage! :)

hope everyone's having fun despite the challenge!

EmJayBe 10/10/2007 #

enakitty, it was definitely fun! A great first swap! Thank you!

CelestialFreak 10/10/2007 #

My food scale lied to me, I was at 1.1 once so I broke the rule and paid for the 58 cent postage. It was too much for me to head back home for new envelopes, it's a bit of a drive for me to get into town, so just look at it as I was being generous with the stamps. Because of the fact that it was only .1 once over the gal at the counter said I could chance it and try to send with just the 41 cents but I figured doing it this way was my insurance that it would get to all of my partners without having to accidently return to me needlessly adding time and making an unhappy swap partner. Oh, and as I mentioned above I was already using two because I needed to make up postage from 37 to 41 cents. And I'm still not done with all my old stamps. Oh well, I'm done with writing a thesis here. Just thought I'd post my post office adventure from today. :-) Looking forward to the mailbox fun!

enakitty 10/11/2007 #

lol ya'lls post office adventures are too funny!

hestiashearth 10/12/2007 #

enakitty - this swap was SO much fun, and I haven't even received anything yet! (Note: that is NOT a criticism; I'm not expecting anything until tomorrow at the VERY earliest)

I can't wait to see what I get; I'm sure I'll be even more pleased!!!!
