I am setting a large time frame between sign up deadline and send by dates so that there is NO reason for anyone to send late~ Once partners are assigned you will contact who you send to and get their last name. Then you will search for items that LOOK like the letters of that last name. It can be with food for instance. That pretzel looks like a "Q" or that squash looks like a "J". Oh, that orange can be an "O". You can look for things in your home like bracket shelving looks like a "T" or my sock laying on the floor looks like an "L". It is also fine to take a picture of the actual letter seen, say on a sign, a fence, a mailbox a marquee and the like. YOU CANNOT, and I mean NO WAY take all of your pictures using the same item. Like don't go to your fridge and take individual pictures of your alphabet letters on your fridge and call it a day. You will be flogged. You can also make a letter out of things. Get creative. If you can trim a branch from a tree to get a "K", then by all means, saw that puppy up. The actual required letter MUST be the object of the picture. It must CLEARLY be seen by any eyes as a letter. Be careful of background business that can take away from the actual object. You will then take the film and get each letter blown up to a 5 x 7 for your partner. When shipping photo's please make sure to add a piece or two of sturdy cardboard so they don't get bent. Also write 'DO NOT BEND, CONTAINS PHOTOS' or something to that effect clearly on the outside of the envelope. It will help if your envelope isn't so big that it won't fit w/o being folded to fit in your mailbox. IN other words, don't overkill the size of the envie compared to the contents. Lightweight swap so GLOBAL. Everyone can join. Yes, I clearly understand that some names are super short and some may contain many letters, this is the luck of the draw. Take the challenge and have fun with it. On this swaps comment section if you get neat ideas for letters, feel free to share what you are doing to maybe help someone out. NO requests for color, matte, glossy or black and white. This is up to the photographer. If you would rather have your first name, that is fine. If you want it to say 'Grandma or kitchen or something like, family' that is also fine. You get the idea. Any word as in singular. No words over 9 letters. Unless your partner agrees to it. ONE word only!! Address any questions here on the comment section in case someone else has the same question. This is gonna be fun. I'll get a Flickr group started for everyone to display what they are doing for letters. HAVE BLAST! *Edited |
