Description:

For this swap, you will be creating one heart ornament of any medium (except paper) that includes a tag or pocket to tuck in a short poem, a blessing, an inspirational word or anything that speaks to your mermaid heart. You can embroider or paint your heart instead of a pocket or tag, if your heart is calling for that type of decoration.

This is like a very special conversation heart!

Specifics:

  • Hearts should be 3 1/2" to 6" (ish) at the tallest part of the heart. The ornament needs to be heart shaped, not (for example) a square with a heart on it. Use whatever medium you prefer, except paper. Papier mache, clay, fabric, yarn, painted canvas, an altered candy box.... use your imagination. Decorate as you wish, or leave as simple as you wish. This is your heart you are giving away, after all!

Remember this is a mermaid lover group, so your medium and decoration choices should reflect this.

  • Include a hanger on the heart

  • Attach a pocket or a tag to include something (an inspirational word, poem, blessing, quote, etc) in your mermaid loving heart that you wish to share with your recipient. This is what makes the heart special. What is in your heart?

This swap is inspired by a project I started on my blog: Conversation Hearts. Click to read more and see some pictures. Ignore the swap description on my blog, as it is slightly different there. Of course, you can join the swap there too! I am trying to collect and make at least 100 different hearts.

Group rules apply.

****Part of the swap requirement is a note clearly noting that you are on swap-bot and your user name. I am hosting this on multiple sites and also in local meet-up groups. For the ones that send to me, I need to know where it comes from. PLEASE! ****
