Description:

Here's a swap for those of us who enjoy swapping recipes that have been tried and liked by other ordinary people (and not just something from a magazine that sounds like it might be good).

You will have six partners. You will send each one, in an envelope by postal mail, at least four recipes that you have made yourself and enjoyed. Recipes do not need to have originated with you, just have been made by you. Include recipes for at least two different categories of food (a soup, two desserts, and an entree, for example -- just so they are not all for the same course or type of food). You may send the same recipes to all of your partners. Recipes are sender's choice and should be written in English unless you have agreed with a partner to use another language.

If possible, include some additional information about each recipe, such as where you originally got it (a certain cookbook, grandma, etc.), on what occasions you make it, possible variations, or a special memory the food evokes, etc. I don't know about the rest of you, but these types of tidbits always help recipes "come alive" for me.

I suggest you type the recipes up and print them out on computer paper, since you will be sending several recipes to six different people, but other options are possible. Some participants might want to hand write them and then make photocopies, or produce a small zine, or even hand write each one on a recipe card. Whatever floats your boat -- as long as it follows this swap description and is very, very legible.

Also, please check your recipes for accuracy (as to ingredients, measurements, etc.) before you send out. No one likes trying a new recipe and having it come out awful because of an error in copying or whatever.

Finally, make sure your Swap-bot name appears on every recipe or sheet of recipes that you send. This will facilitate any necessary exchange of questions and answers about the recipes you are providing.

Extras are fine to enclose, but not expected. If you receive four or more legible recipes from your partner, rate a 5.

Minimum rating is 4.8. Newbies allowed provided they have a well-filled-out profile and contact me via pm before the deadline date. I reserve the right to ban anyone for any reason -- but I won't use that power recklessly. If you have a checkered past but have turned over a new leaf and still want to join this swap, tell me about it in a pm and we'll talk.

I am excited for this swap and am working on the recipes already. I am including some old family favs! I am wheat free, just me not the kiddles, so anything wheat free would be new and interesting to me, but I love it all! Thanks for this swap. LOVE IT!

I would love to join, but measurements are a bit of problem for me... I am too lazy to convert the US or British measurement in to European standards.. :(

All my recipes are in the mail. I really put some thought into this and sent those that are really my family's favorites. Sorry Eli I didn't see your message about being wheat free until after I sent them. Jenny
