This swap is for Crocheters only!

You will send TWO 7" basic traditional granny square to each of your FIVE partners . Each granny must be made using the basic traditional granny square pattern which can be found here,

granny square

Also, you MUST use a 4-ply worsted weight yarn (Red Heart, Caron or similar...) and you must use a different color yarn for each round so that each granny will have a rainbow of colors, you can use plain or varigated-mulitcolored yarn as long as each row is a different color. So, according to this pattern, each granny should have 5 rounds (depending on how tight or loosely you crochet) You could end up with more or less rounds, just depends on how you crochet. These rainbow grannies make such BEAUTIFUL 'ghans!!! Please measure your squares accurately and make sure that they are no more than 1/8-1/4 of an inch of 7 inches!

If you participated in the previous round you must have sent your squares in order to participate in this round. But you did not have to particpate in previous round to join the fun!

Newbies with a well filled out profile are welcome to join in the fun! All others must have a 4.9 rating with no 1 or 3 ratings within the past 3 months. I now we all have lives apart from swap-bot or maybe not LOL, so if you have something arise and you will be sending late please let your partners know! Communication is a good thing!!! If by some chance you do get flaked on this swap, I will gladly angel for you, but if you flake I will shout it from the highest mountain top!!!

I am new here. Will you let me know if I am eligible to join this swap? If not enough people join, will it be canceled?

craftycrocheter 02/ 7/2011 #

Momskii you are more than welcome to join if you fill out your profile. If we don't get at least 5 people to sign up then it will be cancelled, but I have quite few people who are interested so I don't think it will be a problem.

Momskii 02/ 7/2011 #

OK, sorta filled out my profile. Hope its OK

Momskii your profile looks pretty good. I would reccomend adding some likes and dislikes, favorite colors, and allergies if you have any. Even though this swap is senders choice some people like to make the squares with your favorite colors. Also in future swaps, partners will need this info to put packages together that you will like.

This is my very first swap :) I am REALLY excited!!! I assume that we need to 'finish' our squares by tucking the ends....Right?

So excited to swap with everyone!!!

Momskii 02/10/2011 #

thanks for your help - I will update, though I am not a fussy person and everything I receive I like.

craftycrocheter 02/11/2011 #

Rachclute -Yes you assume right, the squares need to be finished, so the ends do need to be tucked(woven) in.

Rachclute 02/11/2011 #

Awesome thanks :)

I have almost all of mine stitched, that should be finished tomorrow! Then just the finishing work and they will be ready to send :) <3

Thank you for doing that for me. I am not sure what I did wrong. I need to read the manual again I guess lol

Can we switch the colors in a round? Like have half the round be one color and the other another? Or all sides of a round four different colors?

Momskii 02/24/2011 #

How do you usually mail the grannies to the swap participants?

vibrantautumn 03/16/2011 #

Mailed mine today in a large brown envelope and marked "swap-bot" on the outside to be sure the receipients know it is a safe package. Hope all enjoy the different color combinations. Each granny square is made especially for the swap partner; no two are alike! Happy crocheting. . . .
