Description: | |
A quiltie is a very small quilt, can be as small as 4x4, can be up to maybe 20x20. For this swap try to stay in the small end. It doesn't have to be square, that's just to suggest size. Because it's small it can be made about as quickly as any pieced quilt block. Try-Something-New is an important part. Try some technique you haven't tried before. Maybe you haven't appliqued or done paper piecing, maybe you haven't embellished with beads or tired some art quilt technique, like adding photography or dying. Maybe you've never made a crazy quilt square -- whatever interests you. It'll be your first time and no one will expect it to be perfect, but do your best and have fun doing something to stretch your ability a little. The picture with this swap shows 4x6 quilties that I've made into post cards using selvages and a picture cut from a fabric, maybe you'd like to try that. It's your choice. Your partner may send you something that will inspire you to try whatever technique she used. it would be nice to add a note telling your partner something about the technique you used and whether you enjoyed it enough to try it again. This is a group swap so it's international and unless your rating has dropped to 4.8 you are eligible. |
