I'm addicted to both note cards and ephemera, so I thought we should make some unique note cards combining the two! For this swap, we will make a set of 4 ephemera-decorated note cards with envelopes for our partner. How do you decorate a note card with ephemera? Think of it as decoupage or collage art; you can use decoupage glue or other paper glue. Here's an idea of how. The theme/style/design is up to you, but you must use more than one piece or type of ephemera for each card. (You might want to cover the cards with modge-podge once finished to seal & protect them.) For example, cut or torn encyclopedia pages, vintage ads, ticket stubs & game cards placed randomly on the note card. Or you can make one card covered entirely in encyclopedia or dictionary page pieces and another card covered in vintage ads. These are just examples & ideas; any ephemera, vintage or not may be used. The note cards themselves do not have to be handmade, but can be. If you have vintage note cards to embellish, even better! The envelopes can be handmade or not and do not need to be decorated at all; its up to you. The only requirement for the envelopes is that you attach a piece of ephemera that can be used for the "to" address on the front. In a nutshell:
