OK, time for me to host my first ever swap :) This is a swap for those of you who love to learn, research, plan and then create all based around a most deserved pagan theme. The Moon is humanity's oldest calendar. Evidence of ancient peoples keeping time by the phases of the moon have been found carved into rocks and cave walls the world over. The famous tree calendar of the Celts was such a time-keeping device, and, like other tribal cultures, the Celts found names and associations for their moon which were developed and codified over many years of ritual and experimentation. Each moon phase was assigned a corresponding tree, each tree being sacred to either feminine energy and to the Goddess, or to masculine energy and to the God. Today the counting of the Celtic tree calendar begins with the full moon nearest Yule so let us start with that moon too. This is the Birch Moon, the moon of beginning. For this swap you are going to send your partner a chunky book page. This needs to be on thick cardstock or several thinner pieces stuck together. The size is to be 6" x 6" and you can decorate it however you wish based on the theme for this swap (but it must include 3D aspects too). This will be the first in a series of 13, one for each of the 13 Celtic moons. So to recap all the information, you are sending: 1 6" square chunky book page to 1 partner. 1 side will have your representaion of the Birch Moon. The other side will be decorated with your choice, but based on the Birch moon theme. Chunky embellishment must be included Sticker slappers will be excluded from future swaps and will be eaten by my trolls. Have fun, if I have left anything out don't hesitate to contact me. I'm still learning and this is my first time hosting a swap so be nice. :))) |
