Description:

C'mon, admit it! When you go to light your kids' Birthday cake, you have a million matches in a baggie but you have nowhere to strike them because you've swapped away all the boxes with the strikers. And you have many cute matchboxes, but the striker parts are all covered in paper!

So, let's do this swap for a functional yet fun 250 ct matchbox. I'm doing a big one because we're going to be using these boxes for lighting matches for some time, probably! So, start with a 250 count matchbox, Take the matches out! Your partner has plenty of matches to put in there, and I don't want us to ship matches as they are flammable. Do not decorate the inside of the box, but do fill it up with various goodies. This is senders' choice.

Decorate the outside of the box, but leave the rough "striker" parts on the sides uncovered! So you will only have to decorate the top and bottom of the box, and the front and back of the matchbox drawer (the parts that show when the box is closed). Free theme except no naked images of people on this one, because as I've said, it will sit out on the mantle for use. The "drawer" must have some type of drawer pull and the drawer must slide out easily when you pull it. Emphasis on function here!

You will not be able to use a matchbox template for this particular swap because it wouldn't be truly functional. So you will need to buy a 250 ct, matchbox. I find mine at the dollar store.

The usual warnings apply, No flaking, no flakers, rate promptly and fairly, no rating down because you don't enjoy the artwork or hate the treats. Just pass them along in your next swap or toss them if they are not to your taste. No trash. No drama. Send something you'd love to get and display in your own home! These larger, storebought matchboxes are a lot more sturdy than the 32 count template-made ones, but still you should pack and send them with some care. Have fun and be creative!
