Description:

There is a similar swap going on like this right now by @ catnipitis, called the Shared Recipe book. My idea is a little different.

For this swap you will get a Composition book, decorate it or cover it if you like. The reason I chose this is because they have nice big pages to write on, and if all the journals are the same the shipping costs will be similar for everyone. Plus there is so much you can do with them as far as altering or decorating if you chose. I am not very crafty and understand if there isn't much you are able to do to the journal.

On the first page write your name and the swap name and in the back write your address and a note to return the journal home to you when it is full. This will be a monthly swap. What you will do is find a recipe, anything at all, from something you make all the time to something you would love to try. Whatever you can think of. Write one recipe in the book with your name and swap name. Include a short little letter to your partner saying why you chose that recipe on a separate sheet of paper, and then mail off to your partner. Next month in a separate swap you will take that journal you received and write a recipe and pass it on. We will keep going as long as there is interest. Please only put in realistic and usable recipe's, the point is for people to find cool new recipes to try out.

The fine print: Anyone is welcome to join who has a well filled out profile, newbies included with at least 5 mailed swaps completed. If you have 1's or 3's please make sure that they are explained somewhere in your profile or PM me and explain. Please don't flake, but if it does happen, I will angel.

You will have until April 1st to sign up, and then a month to send. If there are any questions, please ask.

This is kind of like a round robin?

blockstar 03/22/2011 #

ok, so hypothetically, what if you dont want to continue 3 rounds down the line and you have someones journal...do you send it to that person?

blockstar 03/22/2011 #

oh, and can we write more than one recipe...one seems so little, if we are going to pay postage for a whole notebook can we write 3-5 or somethin?

Jesshens1125 03/22/2011 #

This is a round robin. It will be set up each round a different swap, In the first round your start your own book then pass it on, in the second you pass on the book you received to a new partner and so on, always passing the book to a new partner. Or you can join in new in any round and start a new book. You know, there is no reason why you cant ad more than one recipe. Ad as many as you like! :)

Isnt a month kind of a long time if we are only writing down a few recipes? It would take forever to get it filled out. Other than it being a month to have the journal each time it sounds fun. And I had another question if we do keep it for a month, will they be sending the jounal back to the original owner or does it stay with the new person until the next sending?

Jesshens1125 03/29/2011 #

It will stay with the new person until the next round. For now I will leave this first round as a month to send in, but in future rounds i might make it a shorter amount of time.

I didn't see this one at all... I had started mine because I couldn't join this ( http://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/87224 ) one.

When are we signing up for the next one?

Trippy 06/10/2011 #

Had i known that I would not be receiving a comp notebook, i wouldn't have signed up. The journal i received (from the coordinator of the swap) was twice the weight of a comp notebook which means twice the shipping. i budget myself a certain amount for shipping swap bot items and this will totally put me over. I was really excited about this swap, but it has just been a headache. It was over a month late, and then didn't even meet the guidelines of the swap... and my partner was the coordinator... I was already signed up for the second one, but it will be the last one i do.
