Description:

There's something really appealing about werewolves. Maybe you love Jacob Black from Twilight. Or Bryn from Raised by Wolves. Or Sam from Shiver. Or Calla and Ren from Nightshade. Whatever your favorite book, the imagery of gorgeous wolves growing into their adulthood can be really beautiful.

For this swap, you will create two werewolf bookmarks for your partner. You can use whatever materials you like and one bookmark will be profile-based to please your partner and the second bookmark will feature a book you really like and want to share/recommend.

Both bookmarks should:

  • feature a quote, either from a specific werewolf book, a quote about wolves in general, or something appropriate (maybe something about the nature of change or transformation, etc)--the idea is just to choose something evocative of the theme.
  • include beautiful artwork featuring a wolf or werewolf, using whatever images you like--your own illustration/design, a graphic you found online, covers from a book, etc. If the artwork is a werewolf book cover, it may be used even if it doesn't specifically have a wolf on it (as pictured above).
  • be neatly handmade by you.

If you have a favorite werewolf book, now is a great time to include it in your favorite YA book list! If you don't mention one in your profile, your partner will just assume it's okay to choose something to surprise you.

If you'd like to use specific book quotes but need a refresher, I'd recommend GoodReads as a great source. Just click on the "quotes" tab of the book you're interested in.

You'll send two werewolf bookmarks out to one partner and will receive two bookmarks in return. Good hunting!

does these need to be hand-drawn? I'm a cad artist so normally i would make something like this on computer, then print and work back into it by hand... would this be ok? (obviously I would only use my own work and credit where due)

Nope, these do not need to be hand-drawn. You can use images you find online or even book covers if you want, as these will be swapped, not sold...so pretty much anything is fair game. Those of you who can draw/paint/etc are of course encouraged to do so!

If someone wants to host a hand-drawn bookmark or ATC swap, be my guest. :)

Not gonna be able to make it this time. I know that my postage money and time is extremely limited for the next month or more. Super cool idea. I hope it get a repeat :)
