Let's make a mini-zine using a magazine page as the base. It should be an interesting new way to make a mini-zine using recycled materials. So here's what you do: If you don't know how to make a mini-zine, watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5oD8EyZHOU. It only takes one sheet of A4 or similar-sized paper and is very simple. Once folded, you should have eight little pages. So for your paper, you are going to use a page from a magazine. Pick something with interesting colours/textures that will look good when folded up. I like to use the fashion shoots from hipstery magazines for this, they work really well. Although something with lots of dense text could look good too. Once you've made the basic zine, it is completely up to you how you fill it up. The theme, content, and any decoration or additional work you want to do on it are completely sender's choice. If you need some ideas, you could, for example: collage each page, stick in your mini photographs, fill it will a short story, turn it into a how-to guide, make it into a mini-comic, etc. Pop your zine in an envelope and send it to your partner. If you like you can include a little note. Everybody, including newbies, is welcome for this swap, although I will ban anyone who looks dodgy. I will check all profiles, so message me with an explanation if you have an unfair rating or an average of below 4.5 but still want to join. This is totally sender's choice, so you can get started on your zine straight away. Happy swapping! |
