Newbie: Wreck This Journal

The title says it all. Use a composition notebook. 1-2 pages per entry.
50 page minimum.
Write what your "prompt" is for each page. Then fill the page with your art/answer/interpretation.

This will end up being a fat journal.
Be prepared to pay some postage.

No bodily fluids or hair (Ew, gross!)
No food things either (It molds, bleh!)

Affix all additives so that they don't fall out.
Pages may fall out due to "processing".
If so, put it back in and make it stay (glue, tape, staple...) :o)

Stay tuned for prompt ideas...

Here are some more: decorate a page w wrappers of your fave things dec. w/ your age numbers fill with the word MAY ask a friend to do something destructive...don't watch poke holes w a pencil and turn the holes into something (bugs, flowers, etc.) fill with pics of babies draw w colored glue (let dry) trace things from your wallet/purse...let the lines overlap fill the page with things that are pink (or your fave color) burn a page and re-attach it tear out a page, crumple it and put it in your pocket...wash and dry the pants...reattach the page to the book cover a page with office supplies use a page as a coaster all day fill with stickers run it over give it to a baby jump up and down and wipe your feet on a page cut veggies and make prints give a page a make-over (cosmetic surgery)..make sure it's dry

Quick Question

The Journal is not date related, meaning the pages don't have to be dated right?

pearlywhitesmile 05/ 6/2011 #

Been looking for ideas on flickr and on pinterest. This is going to be so freeing just let it all hang out type of deal how fun is that yipeee!

LadyStephanie 05/ 6/2011 #

The journal is NOT date related. 50 pages of "wrecking"... whenever, wherever, however.

Also, about prompts - some pages it will be obvious what has happened, others will be a mystery. On some pages you may want to put on it what your "prompt" or objective was when creating that page. You could write a thin little blurb at the top/bottom or inside near the spine...or actually name your page.

LadyStephanie 05/ 6/2011 #

But, hey, that's not a steadfast rule or anything.
Just a suggestion since this is a newbie swap.
Be creative!

LadyStephanie 05/ 6/2011 #

More prompts:

write with your non-dominant hand
write with your toes
write or paint with your mouth
use kitchen gadgets
give your page a manicure
coffee or tea rings
tire tracks - car, truck, bike, skateboard

LadyStephanie 05/15/2011 #

Let's remember to keep this sanitary! No food items (bubble gum would be food) and no bodily fluids (this includes bug fluids). The exception to the no food/liquids rule would be tea stained or kool aid stained papers. Those to me are like painting with water colors. Give ample time to dry before mailing. Thank you!

Other than that, let the glue guns, hammers and hand grenades fly!
