Sometimes the most special swaps I receive are accompanied by great stories, inspiration, and ideas. That's the idea behind this swap...to surprise your partner with something unexpected. For this swap, gather some scraps leftover from craft project(s) that are particularly special to you. The scraps do not need to be large, or expensive, or inherantly valuable, and any type of (clean) materials are welcome. Write your partner a letter telling them WHY the enclosed scraps are special to you, the importance of the project you used them for, where you got them...anything that makes a colorful and inspirational story. The letter should be at least a couple of paragraphs, but doesn't have to be a novel (unless you feel like writing one). Then package the scraps in a beautiful, Somerset-inspired way. This swap idea doesn't come from any particular magazine or issue, but so many of the publications like Somerset Studios, Somerset Life, and Sew Somerset contain excellent packaging ideas. It isn't a requirement of the swap, but I am going to try to incorporate every tiny scrap I receive into a projcet of my own. Anyone interested in swapping stories? |
