Dotee Doll – Holiday Theme This swap is for a Dotee Doll in a Holiday Theme. Since it’s a busy time for a lot of swappers we’ll just do one doll for one partner right now. However: I am willing to do some extra exchanges on the side if anyone is interested. I am making this international. The dolls are small and lightweight. They fit into small bubble envies and ship overseas with relative ease to the pocketbook. If you don’t know much about Dotee Dolls, don’t feel alone. I just found out about them myself in the last couple weeks. I’ve included some links that should help. To see some photos of finished Dotees check out these flickr photos To the blog of the woman who started the Dotee Craze Go Here For a tutorial from Dot herself Click Here Please interpret holiday in your own creative way which can include holiday prints or fabric in the holiday colors. Think red, green, gold, bells, winter trees, Santas, Angels ect. ect. It is not necessary to wait for the swap to close in order to work on your dolls since there is no specific expectation to match your partners profile. Choose some materials that appeal to you (and are keeping with the theme) and go with it! Please feel free to change the shape or style of your doll according to your own expression, but make sure it has an attached face, tail and loop hanger. Let’s keep the size somewhat uniform and do them in the 3-6 inch range (finished size). The Dotee in the photo is one that I made. I don’t like embellishing on a stuffed front surface so I embellish through the two layers of fabric then add a felt backing which I stuff and hand sew into place. Now for the rest of it – Although I’m very new to hosting I have been swapping here for more than a year. I’m familiar with the way things work. What I’ve discovered is that determining a swappers risk isn’t a simple number. I’ll be checking ratings, swap history and swap comments when deciding which swappers will be allowed to participate. If you aren’t a well established swap-bot swapper you’ll need a filled out profile AND you’ll need to provide me with links to other pertinent information that would help determine that you are a reliable swapper. i.e. other swap sites where you have participated, photo streams that show a history of your work, recommendations from swap-bot members in good standing. If you have questions or concerns please message or email. Happy swapping!!! Betsy AKA Hag53 |
