Description:

This is for people who love to zentangles!!!

YOU will need to buy some type of blank journal or notebook. Journal should be around 10.5 x 8 Inches. And have between 50 - 100 pages.

On the first page you will write a short introduction, along with your profile name and your address.

On the second page you'll start adding zentangles pages. Please start each zentangle on a new page! And fill that page at least 2/3rds of the way full. They can be either black and white or colored. Or even a mix of both. Fill only front of each page so that there is no worry of bleeding through and ruining anything.

You can also fill in extra pages with zentangles if you like BUT you must have at least 5 pages of zentangles.

When you have your 5 Zentangled pages finished, you'll ship the notebook to your swap partner.

This is a swap series. On the next round, you will add an intro page (with all the above listed info) and 5 zentangled pages to the notebook you received in this swap, or (if you're just starting with us) you'll buy a new notebook and join in!

If you fill the last page of a notebook then you will ship it to the next person. If you're the one who RECEIVES a FULL notebook, then you can keep it and buy a new one to start the swap with.

The goal is for everyone to stick with this swap long enough to receive a full notebook.

PLEASE NO FLAKERS !!!!

Any guidelines for the number of pages the journal should have? A thicker journal will take longer to be completed.

ColeCreations 06/14/2011 #

this is an awesome idea. im just afraid of the potential flakage that could happen.

Emika 06/15/2011 #

Yes! I agree that this is a fantastic idea, but there is a lot of room for flaking to happen.

It's just a suggestion (after all, it's your swap), but maybe the sign-up date and the send date could be closer together? There's no reason that people couldn't work ahead, and have their notebooks all ready to go when partners are assigned. Less chance for flaking that way.

Ok I can change the dates on this. As for the number of pages I would say maybe 50 - 100 pages. Each person will be filling up 6 pages ( 1 Bio page and 5 zentangle pages ) so if we do this monthly everyone should get a book back in 12 swaps or less.

Are we supposed to use something like a composition book from an office supply store for these journals? Or are they supposed to be like Moleskines or some sort of fancier art journal/sketchbook? These can be expensive, especially if they have to be 10.5x8.

LunaMoody 06/16/2011 #

You can use whatever you like. It's totally up to you, I just would like it to be a nice size so that we have room on the pages to really play with our designs. And it doesn't have to be that exact size just around that size.

I think it will be fun. Hopefully it will all work out in the end!

scholz 06/24/2011 #

Would something like this be ok? http://www.amazon.com/Moleskine-Japanese-Album-Large-Srl/dp/8862933096/ref=sr12?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1308950479&sr=1-2

These journals are 5x8. but the pages fold out, so you can make 10x8 designs. I haven't used one of these before, but I think it would be really interesting for this swap.

shholz ...that would work great!!!

I see that we have a number of people watching the swap... I hope that you will decide to join the swap after. At least give this first round a try. I think it could be really fun

I really want to join this swap, but I'm waiting til the resend on my 1 reaches the receiver. I hope she gets it before July 1! I'm counting on it getting to her, so I've already started. For more inspiration, check out the Tangle Patterns website! www.tanglepatterns.com A friend pointed me to that website, and it has really opened up my mind to design possibilities!
