Swap Coordinator:mercmom41 (contact)
Swap categories: Paper Goods  Postcards  Handmade
Number of people in swap:7
Location:Other
Type:None
Last day to signup/drop:November 24, 2007
Date items must be sent by:December 10, 2007
Number of swap partners:4
Description:

Choose either autumn/harvest colors or Christmas colors (which could be red and green, or white and blue if you think of snow), and collage one postcard for each of 4 partners.

The images aren't important, just the color combo and that it's a collage, with bits and pieces of this and that. I've included a picture here of a collage postcard I did. It doesn't have a color scheme, but maybe it will inspire you just the same.

No players with "no sends" in the last four months, and no players signed up for more than 15 swaps at a time.

Thanks for looking and hope you'll challenge yourself on this fun swap!

OK, I'm in. Nice idea, Carrie. I may go with more of a pagan purple color scheme, though!

This looks like so much FUN!! :D

Purple pagan is fine, Sharon, sounds interesting. Of course, purple is one of the main colors of Advent in the Catholic Church...hee hee.

Okay, so I said you can't join if you are in more than 15 swaps at a time, and when I look at people's profiles, I see that most of you are in a LOT of swaps, but they seem to be sequential, so they aren't all due at the same time. So I'm not going to worry about it right now. Plus you all have great ratings, I can't wait to see what you'll do!

That's so cool, mercmom41! I was so excited to join this swap that I didn't see the part about the 15 swaps. Thank you for reconsidering!! :D

A silly question, perhaps: Should we simply mail the postcards as postcards or pop them into envelopes so the arrive unused?

mercmom41 11/24/2007 #

Lilymarlowe, Not a silly question, I prefer to get postcards that are postmarked, i.e., used. If other people feel different, pipe up.

Naked please for me!!!

fleasha 11/27/2007 #

Same here - nekkid, postmarked, stamped, smudged, been through the ringer, handled by many, learned some stuff and is all grown up when it gets to me! :P oooh, especially if they are handmade. :D

mercmom41 11/27/2007 #

I like that description--nekkid. I saw someone else describe sending "unprotected" postcards as "weathered," but I like "naked" better. Maybe that would be a good name for a swap: Naked postcards. Except then people would think it was for nudie images...

Nekkid, weathered and well-traveled is my favorite way to get postcards as well. I'm happy to hear we have consensus. ;-)

FarStarr 11/30/2007 #

The last time I asked for postcards to be mailed naked, one of my friends begged and pleaded to be allowed to wear clothes to the post office..;)

I've got 3 done and 1 to go...fun!

Mine are on their way!!

Lilymarlowe, I got your fabulous postcard today, thanks! It even got postmarked on both sides, so it's like the post office decorated two of the trees! I'll upload an image.

And then I guess I better get to work on mine!
