I wanted to create a QUICK and EASY swap so here it is..... For this swap you will send one partner a little note in an envelope that will really stand out in her mailbox!!! If you are completely new to mail art I added a couple links at the bottom of the page. The sky is the limit...you can draw, paint, stamp...or do whatever you like, just make sure that there are no strings, or items hanging that will get caught in the postal machines. You can choose if you would like to send her a standard envelope or go all out and send a big packing envelope! YOU choose the size of your canvas! All you need to include is a little note to say hi- because we all like to get snail mail! Maybe tell her about your plans for the summer, share your latest craft wish list, or whatever you would like to say! Just a little suggestion....if you can, please use REAL STAMPS for this one. They really add to the beauty of the envelope (just remember to allow room for them! lol) this lady does a really good job creating an envelope out of a file folder but you don't have to get this detailed unless you want to- although it would be a great way to use up those precious TH paper scraps! and here Rachel creates a beautiful envelope that inspired my little snail stamp...only hers was using the set by Dark Room Door that I would give my first born for! (not really but it is GORGEOUS all the same) if you don't mind foreign languages here is a video with lots of samples. I had to edit this information to include this video. It has a ton of beautiful examples from all different backgrounds and all around the world! So there you have it....a really SIMPLE and fast swap! A big part of this site is rooted in the whole PEN PAL aspect and this will allow us to do a swap that fits into our busy summer schedule! |
