Description:

Some of us tend to vow to use our ugly yarn. However we never find anything or we can't stand working with it. Well this is the swap that will let you get rid of that yarn and hopefully get some ugly yarn you can use. :D

guidelines

  1. No dirty or ratty yarn. I know this is for ugly yarn, but it is NOT for nasty yarn. This swap is NOT a way for you to get rid of yarn you would have otherwise thrown away.

  2. Send the equivilent of 3 ounces, with any one type you send being at least 1/2 ounce (or 2 yards).

  3. No prefrences allowed except for allergies.

  4. If your partner sends more then required please give them a heart. They obviously went to the trouble of sending you extra & should be rewarded as such. YOU do not have to give hearts! However if you do send extra to your partner your partner should consider doing so.

qualifications

  1. You must be rated with a 4.9 rating or higher. Lets face it yarn is expensive even the ugly stuff we have.

  2. You must have been rated 5 times in the past 2 months with a rating of 5.

  3. No sends & 1 ratings are not allowed. If you feel you should still be let in (like your 1 rating was ages ago) send me a message to plead your case.

  4. This swap is international so be prepared to send international. It can get expensive so be forwarned!

  5. NO FLAKING!!! I cannot angel the swap but I will help find angels. However that doesn't mean you can flake.

Lastly have fun! We all love getting new yarn esp if all we have to do is pay to send it!

Wow, I have a lot of ugly yarn, or at least thin yarn that I'm not patient enough to knit on tiny needles. I spent several hours last night making a little army of rainbow-colored yarn balls. My husband thought it was quite amusing, I'm sure.

Thanks for hosting this swap!

I can't wait to be surprised by some new ugly yarn! (P.S. I'd also give a heart for funky (ugly?) variegated yarn, thick yarn, or wool and wool blends.)

One man's meat is another man's poison, as they say! Should be a great swap!

I can't crochet with thin yarn either. But my mom steals all that I get. ugly yarn to me is some stuff I have had forever & get tired of seeing it. I am glad you all signed up!

I'd love to have anyone's fingering or sport weight yarn. Any acrylic uglies I get I'll use for teaching or to knit baby socks. . . This is my second ugly yarn swap. I got stiffed by one of my partner's on the first one. Looking forward to the surprise.

I don't care what I get! Bring on the ugly yarn! Thick or thin (or both ;D)!
