What dreadful hot weather we have! It keeps me in a continual state of inelegance. The above quote is attributed to Jane Austen. Write a note on a lovely notecard to one (1) partner about the weather. Though the quote is about summer, this works even if you live in the southern hemisphere and the weather is not hot since you are all bundled up for winter. Maybe that bundling puts you in as much a state of inelegance as summer does Jane. EDIT: @papercaper put the idea in my head that we could write in the voice of the person quoted. I think that would be wonderful, though it is not a requirement. It has been years since I've read Jane Austen, but I suspect that if I got a note written in her style, it might prompt me to pick up one of my favorites ... Northanger Abbey. This one in a series of swaps that use quotes as writing prompts. |
