I find that a lot of enthusiastic letter-writers and snail-mailers are also voracious readers, so this swap is in honor of our literary pursuits! The postcard itself must have a literary theme: a book cover, something showing books or writing, reading, a photo of a famous author, etc. You can have some wiggle room, but please make it immediately apparent that it has to do with books; if you have to explain the connection to your partner, it's probably not the best postcard for this swap. I've been inspired by the recent Postcards from Penguin offering from Chronicle Books. But wait - there's more! In the text of your postcard - because really, what point is there in sending a postcard without WRITING something on it? - you need to write about a book you've read and loved. It can be recent, or it can be one of your favorite books of all time, but do give some ink to a book that really had meaning for you. Postcards should be store-bought unless your partner states specifically that they really love handmade postcards. Please make sure to write your name and username, and to write the swap name, on your naked postcard. You must have a rating of 4.9 or higher. (If you have problems in your rating and you really want to do this swap and you know you can handle it, send me a message and we'll talk.) Newbies are OK with a rich and robust profile. |
