Description:

I have a new obsession: the inchie!! So much fun in such a little space is my new mantra. If you love to create inchies, or are a new fan like me, try your hand at this swap.

Swap Requirements:

  • decorate a 32 count matchbox around the word "create", use your imagination but the matchbox must contain the word "create" on it

  • fill the matchbox with items to create inchies, which should include one of your favorite tools/items. include items such as cardstock, beads, a mini rubber stamp, dictionary bits, ephemera, bits of fiber, words from magazines or books, tiny pictures, please send somthing usable.

  • make an inchie for your partner using the theme "create"

  • write a nice note to your partner explaining your experiences with creating inchies and explain what your favorite tool/item included is and why you like to use it

  • have fun!!

I created a Flickr group so we can post pictures of the inchies we create from our kits and any other inchie you have created or create in the future:

http://www.flickr.com/groups/inchiekitmatchbox/

Once we've assigned partner, I will invite you to join the group. In order to play you must have no no-sends and a rating of 5 (4.97 or higher is also acceptable). :o)

This should be a quick swap because you can make your matchbox kit now and ship as soon as your partner is assigned.

Sorry, this will be a U.S. and Canada swap only.

Cheers!!

Is there somewhere we can look to see what the "inchie" thing is all about? I would like to join, but don't quite know what it is yet. Somebody sent me some one inch square pieces of paper, but that's about all I know about it.

Hi DeeBee! Here is a tutorial by a woman who has had her inchies published by Somerset Studios: http://chrysti.wordpress.com/2006/09/24/part-2-100-1″-collage-squares-w-tutorial/

You can also do a search in Flickr to see other examples, which is where I first became acquainted with the inchie. Anyonw else know of helpful info or links?

This is such a great idea! "Create" is one of my favorite words and I've been newly enjoying matchboxes and inches.
