Description:

You've probably seen the fun, gag-gift survival kits out there; maybe at a craft fair or even made your own. Well this swap is for a Survival Kit. There are many kinds you could make for your partner. Some examples: PMS Survival Kit, Anti-depression Survival Kit, The Crafters Survival Kit, the Stress-free Survival Kit, Guardian Angel Survival Kit, Holiday Survival Kits, The Cooks Survival Kit, and soooo many others! Do an internet search and find numerous ideas.

Edited to add:

As you can see it is small and inexpensive items. I'd say each kit should have a minimum of 7 items (can be more!). Cost will be different depending on the type of kit that is put together. It could cost between $2-$6 for a kit as you may have many of the items on hand. The idea of this swap is not about the money spent but the thought you put into your kit. It's a swap meant to bring a smile to your partners face.

So for this swap you will put together 1 Survival Kit that you feel would be useful to your partner. This is sender's choice but you MUST read your partner's profile. Do not send a cook's survival kit to someone who hasn't stated they are a cook! There are many Survival kits to choose from out there and you can tweek them anyway you like.

This is an international swap open to those with a 4.9 rating or better. No recent 1s or 3s (PM me with any concerns or explanations). I reserve the right to ban and will check profiles. You MUST have a well-filled out profile to participate. Newbies must have 10 rated #3 swaps to join.

This should be a fun swap that will bring a smile to your partner so make sure to do your best to make them smile!

Happy to see that one of the suggested sites has one for LEOs (law enforcement office/police)!!

I love these 'survival' kits...have used them for years to put a smile on someone's face!!

Thanx for hosting angkb!

Such a good idea. I got one of the nurse survival kits when I worked at the hospital.

is it senders choice survival kit?

angkb 08/14/2011 #

From above: This is sender's choice but you MUST read your partner's profile. Do not send a cook's survival kit to someone who hasn't stated they are a cook!

YES - this is sender's choice but must be something related to your partner so you have to read the profile. Another example - do not send a Christian survival kit to someone who states they are atheist.

Any other concerns just ask :)

Any guidelines as to how big/expensive the kit should be?

UrsaMinor 08/20/2011 #

I would also like to know how many items the kit should contain and what they should cost. I'll watch this swap.

If you look at the above sites you can see some excellent examples but here are 2 Kit examples for you to view:

Tootsie roll - so you can "roll" down the highway Sponge - to soak up the rain, so you don't have to drive in it Mounds - for the mounds of miles that you drive Marbles - to replace the ones you've lost Gem - to remind you that you are carrying precious cargo Aspirin - take two every day Cotton Ball - to cushion those rough roads Rubberbands - for when your patience is stretched Tums - for all the nervous stomachs Mirror - to remind you how important you are.

A stick of gum - To remind you to stick with it! A paper clip - To help keep things together. A pencil - For the next time somebody says "get the lead out" An eraser - To erase any mistakes or misunderstandings. Crayons - To "color" your days bright and sunny A tissue - To wipe away a tear-- your own or someone else's. A poem - To share the beauty of words. A penny - So you have enough "cents" to realize what a good job you are doing A piece of string - For when you reach the end of your rope - this will keep you going a bit longer A band aid - For healing hurt feelings, yours and someone else's. A candle - To find your way to the bus on those dark mornings. A rubber band - A reminder to stay flexible A cotton ball - For the rough roads, seek the cushioned support of your family and friends. A recipe - To make when you have all that extra time in the summer! A joke - Laughter is the best medicine.

It's a swap meant fo bring a smile to your partners face. Hope this helps! Any other concerns let me know!
