can anyone join, or do you need to be a member of The Scrapbooking Soceity?

JewelzyBug 09/27/2006 #

Are they clothing buttons or pin-type buttons? (ex. poltical buttons)

user1451 09/27/2006 #

Anyone can join in.

Clothing type buttons for this swap.

KarlaKC 10/ 3/2006 #

When you say "any kind" of button, does this include the flat round "normal" buttons or are your intentions for these buttons to be a little more unique, like teddy bear, angel, fire trucks, etc. buttons? Sounds like a fun exchange.

user1451 10/ 9/2006 #

When I say "any kind", I mean any kind! Whatever you would like to swap, they can be plain or unique, whatever you have. Thanks for asking. :)

kika62 10/12/2006 #

Hi, I just joined this swap. Can we also swap button covers for the buttons or is that a totally different swap whatsoever? Thanks, Jessica

evieroz 10/14/2006 #

Can we cut the shanks off before we send them?

user1451 10/15/2006 #

The button covers would be a different type of swap.

You may cut off the shanks before you send them if you'd like.

Zmrzlina 10/21/2006 #

how is everyone sending these? in padded envelopes or regular ones? i'm not sure which to choose but my buttons are picked out ready to go!

Zmrzlina 10/23/2006 #

I sent my in a card inside a regular envelope. I stitched them to a business card from the shop where I bought the buttons, so they aren't running loose in the envelope. Only one was going overseas (I am in the States), but I think it will travel fine because I did tape up the envelope very well.

VelveteenRabbit 10/24/2006 #

Why didn't I think of that? I put mine in a tiny ziploc bag but then they were noisily clinking against each other so I stuffed a piece of scrap fabric in. That worked but the envelope was a bit bulky in the middle. I'll have to think of sewing them to something next time! :)

jennisnyder 10/24/2006 #

tried uploading pic to gallery. don't think it worked. if you want to see what I sent...i sent to hearthheather, BabyBlue, Lurker, and sunnyrc2001. check it out here... http://www.scrapbooksociety.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=8946 thx jenni

Zmrzlina 10/24/2006 #

jennisnyder, that is such a clever presentation!

VelveteenRabbit 10/24/2006 #

ACK! That's REALLY nice, jennisnyder. I hope my swap partners will forgive me for the very unimpressive presentation of mine. Plus, I sent some vintage buttons so they don't look as nice and shiny.

Okay, you people are inspiring me! Next swap I participate in, I'm going to do something really nice. :)

RaineyDay 10/25/2006 #

My buttons are heading out tomorrow to Susan in Oregon, fernanda in Portugal, Julie in Canada, and Malin in Sweden. I sent them loose in a padded envelope. I sent a few extra buttons because I have a huge box full. Hope that's okay. :) Enjoy.

rowdychik 10/26/2006 #
