A quick note: Most swaps begin by doing a project then shipping at the end. These rotations are opposite, they begin by you shipping to your partner (the blocks you have been working on) and recieving new blocks to work on until the next swap round ship date. 1) Send 4 blocks to your 3 assigned partners. 2) Create a "layer" on each of the 12 blocks you recieve- collage, sewing-quilting, embellishing, painting, whatever you like. This will be the second layer (including the base). *Defination of Layer: Collage, stitching, cut work, painting or glazing etc...You could add a bit of something to one part and something else to another other part. Each "layer" doesn't need to cover the whole piece but you need to do more than glue a bead to one side and call it done. These are mini collaborative ART pieces so put your heart into them. I would request that we include on the "Backs" the addition of each persons initials and a # 1-5 to indicate which round you participated in. Check out some ATC's or other collage types of work for inspiration. We will all end up with 12 different blocks collaborated on by 5 people that we can then assemble in any way we wish (in a book, on the wall, stitched together, whatever). |
